PGRI Madiun University (UNIPMA) lecturer, Dr Fitra Pinandhita, M.Pd, became a speaker at the regular meeting of the Dharma Wanita Persatuan SMAN 1 Madiun which took place on Friday, 09/08/2024. The meeting was hosted by Mrs Nanik Pujiastuti and attended by the chairman, management and members of the Dharma Wanita Persatuan SMAN 1 Madiun. This event became an important moment for the participants to deepen their public speaking skills.

In the material session, Dr Fitra Pinandhita, M.Pd said that public speaking is not just about how one speaks in public, but about how to convey messages in a clear, effective, and influential way. This skill is very important for teachers who often have to speak in front of students, colleagues, or the wider community.

The participants were very enthusiastic in attending this training. They were given various tips and techniques in public speaking, including how to overcome nervousness, manage voice intonation, and use appropriate body language. Dr Fitra Pinandhita, M.Pd also emphasised the importance of preparation before public speaking, because with careful preparation, a speaker can appear more confident and convincing.

The Chairperson of Dharma Wanita Persatuan SMAN 1 Madiun, Mrs Sri Widayani Yayuk Nuryanto also expressed her appreciation to Dr Fitra Pinandhita, M.Pd for the knowledge provided. According to her, the public speaking skills learned today are very useful for members, especially because ASN is often involved in various social and formal activities. ‘The knowledge we get today is very important, especially as educators, we must be able to convey information and knowledge in a way that is interesting and easily understood by others,’ he said.

She also hoped that training like this could continue in the future, so that Dharma Wanita members would become more proficient in public speaking. ‘Hopefully, the knowledge gained today can continue to be developed and practised on various occasions, both in the school environment and in Dharma Wanita activities,’ she added.

During the event, Dr Fitra Pinandhita, M.Pd also challenged the participants to practice what they had learnt. The challenge was a question and answer session, where participants had the opportunity to ask questions directly to Dr Fitra Pinandhita, M.Pd.  This session was interactive with many questions from participants who wanted to better understand the public speaking techniques they had learnt.

In closing, the event ended with a group photo session between Dr Fitra Pinandhita, M.Pd and all members of Dharma Wanita Persatuan SMAN 1 Madiun.
