Universitas PGRI Madiun Lecturer Participates in SEA-Teacher Program Evaluation Meeting in Thailand 

Mrs. Dr. Marheny Lukitasari, S.P., M.Pd (Vice Chancellor for Field II UNIPMA), accompanied by Mrs. Sri Lestari, S.Pd., M.Pd (Head of Cooperation and Public Relations Bureau) Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA), has received a special invitation from the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) to attend the 9th Evaluation Meeting of the SEA-Teacher Project in Chiang Rai Thailand.

SEAMEO has chosen Rajabhat University Chiang Rai as the host for this meeting, which takes place at Wiang Inn Hotel, Chiang Rai, on June 21 to 22, 2024. The meeting aims to evaluate the implementation and achievements of the 9th batch of the SEA-Teacher program, which has provided teaching practice opportunities to more than 2,200 pre-service student teachers across Southeast Asia since its inception in 2015.

The SEA-Teacher project is designed to expand the teaching skills and pedagogical experience for pre-service student teachers, focusing on areas such as Mathematics, Science, English, and Pre-School Education. In addition, the program also aims to improve English language skills and provide teaching and learning experiences in a multicultural environment.

At this evaluation meeting, participants will review the best practices that have been implemented, as well as plan the way forward for future batches. The event is also an opportunity for the more than 200 participating universities to establish further cooperation in the program, with the aim of improving the quality of teacher education across the Southeast Asian region.

"Participation in this meeting provides an opportunity for us to share various best practices in implementing the SEA-Teacher program and convey obstacles during the 9th batch program in 2023," said Mrs. Sri Lestari, S.Pd., M.Pd,

The 9th SEA-Teacher evaluation meeting will also include representatives from Teacher Education Institutes in Southeast Asia, as well as discuss plans for the 10th batch of pre-service student exchange programs.

"We hope to continue contributing to improving education standards in Indonesia through closer collaboration by accepting students from partners who participate in this program." Mrs. Sri Lestari, S.Pd., M.Pd. concluded,
