Assisting the Implementation of the Independent Curriculum, UNIPMAs English Education Study Program Boosts Teacher Training in Kawedanan Magetan District 

The Independent Curriculum has been officially launched by the Ministry of Education and Culture. The policy of providing an independent curriculum is to provide facilities to education units.

The independent curriculum concept provides activities that create a pleasant atmosphere. The implementation of the Merdeka curriculum in Elementary Schools (SD) aims to allow educational units and teachers to be flexible in designing school operational curricula and teaching modules.

Based on this, to support the Implementation of the Independent Curriculum, the Principal Working Group (K3S) in the Kawedanan sub-district, Magetan as a partner, organized activities to assist the Implementation of the Independent Curriculum for several Elementary School (SD) teachers, especially grades 2 and 5.

Because the implementation of learning with the Implementation of the RPP Independent Curriculum is not yet appropriate, maximum assistance is needed.

So, the need for maximum assistance regarding the Independent Curriculum. Based on the assignment from LPPM UNIPMA in 2023, the PKM Study Program team provided Assistance for the Implementation of the Independent Curriculum for Elementary Schools in Kawedanan Magetan District, Wednesday, 14 June 2023.

The target of this activity is elementary school teachers, with the hope that they will understand the concept and implementation of the Independent Curriculum in educational units.

Beginning with a presentation of material by Dr. Erlik Widiyani Styati, M.Pd. regarding the Implementation of the Elementary School Independent Curriculum, then continued by the PKM team, namely Vita Vendityaningtyas, S. S, M. Pd, Rizqi Husaini, M. Pd, Puput Jianggimahastu Larastika Suryanto, M. Pd, Rahma Arlia Putri, and Citra Ayu Diah Pitaloka. Their topic is Learning Media in the Independent Curriculum.

The participants who took part enjoyed the activity at that time. It can be seen that several questions regarding difficulties when teaching in the classroom were ejected. So, this can be overcome by using interesting media.

Such as hand puppets for teaching fables and pocket charts for classifying objects. The idea was carried out as an effort to improve the quality of 21st-century learning.
