Improving Student Achievement, Unipma Holds Workshops with Young Innovators 

The spirit of achievement in building the country is one of the priorities of Biology Education students at PGRI Madiun UNIPMA. The development of student competencies is carried out in each generation as a form of culture and maintains the consistency of achievement. As a form of routine activity, Biology Education held a workshop to improve student achievement for competitions within the Ministry of Education and Culture.

This activity was carried out on Thursday (6/10/2022) at the UNIPMA integrated laboratory. This workshop is one of the activities funded by the Merdeka Campus Competition Program (PKKM) grant from the Ministry of Education and Culture in 2022.

"This workshop aims to improve the achievement of UNIPMA Biology students at the national level and improve the experience of lecturers in guiding students to compete," said Dr. W. Linda Yuhanna, M.Si as the PIC of this activity. This workshop was attended by 140 participants consisting of students and accompanying lecturers. This workshop was opened by the Head of Biology Education Study Program and presented a very competent speaker, namely Regita Rahma Maharatri, one of the young innovators who won Double Gold Medals at the National Student Scientific Week (PIMNAS).

Regita said that creativity, discipline and consistency in developing an innovation are the main assets for achievement. UNIPMA Biology Education students have high motivation and many potential sources of ideas to be developed. Besides that, it is also supported by productive lecturers and supports the students' thinking.

Through this activity, students are encouraged to generate creative ideas in the fields of technology, science, entrepreneurship, exact research, social humanities and various other relevant fields. The activity begins with the delivery of material, discussions, exploring ideas, developing ideas, presenting creative ideas and reviews from presenters. "This activity is very interesting and challenging, because students are asked to develop ideas as solutions to problems faced today by integrating relevant technologies," said Natasya, one of the workshop participants.

The output of this activity is the existence of innovative works that are ready to be competed within the scope of the Ministry of Education and Culture. This work is the result of brainstorming and synergy between students and accompanying lecturers. "It is hoped that through this activity, more Biology Education students will participate in national level competitions and become an inspiration for today's young generation," concluded Dr. Linda Yuhanna, M.Si.
