UNIPMA PPHP Team Provides Dolanan Dance Training to ABK Assistant Teachers at SDN 2 Sukowinangun.

Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) through the Downstream Research Service Program Team (PPHP) chaired by Dr. Dahlia Novarianing Asri, M.Si with members Rischa Pramudia Trisnani, S.Pd., M.Pd, Sesaria Prima Yudhaningtyas, S.Pd., M.Pd, Daniel Yehuda Anugraha, Annisa Irania carried out Community Service (Abdimas) activities in the form of Training Children's Dolanan Dance as Preservation of Local Wisdom for Companion Teachers or Class Teachers to Improve the Social Skills of Children with Special Needs in Inclusive Elementary Schools.

The activity was carried out on July 14, 2022 to October 31, 2022 at SD Negeri 2 Sukowinangun, one of the inclusive schools in Magetan Regency, East Java, which is one of 60 Inclusive Elementary Schools in Magetan Regency.

One of the goals of inclusive schools is to provide examples for children with special needs so that they can imitate the behavior of normal children, but due to the lack of experience and adequate qualifications from accompanying teachers or classroom teachers to guide children with special needs so that children with special needs have not received full educational services. Companion teachers still have difficulty communicating with children with special needs because they do not have an extraordinary educational background besides that the social skills of children with special needs are also still very low. To overcome these problems, training is needed for accompanying teachers or classroom teachers so that they are able to improve the social skills of children with special needs. While at SD Negeri Sukowiangun there are 7 accompanying teachers but only 1 teacher with an extraordinary educational background.

"Through this PPHP Team, UNIPMA wants to contribute to the community, especially accompanying teachers in inclusive schools by providing insight into the importance of improving the Social Skills of Children with Special Needs," said Dahlia as the head of the PPHP TEAM.

In addition, the benefits of this activity can provide insight into knowledge for teachers about Children's Dolanan Dance as Preservation of Local Wisdom for Companion Teachers. "We chose this dolanan dance, besides being able to improve the skills of ABK students, it can also improve motor skills and as a means of introducing insight into local wisdom," continued Dahlia.

The main focus of the Downstream Research Service (PHPP) program team is the social and psychological impact. The existence of this training is useful for presenting therapy that can be done independently by teachers in schools. Dance movement is a therapy to improve motor skills and social skills for children with special needs who have social problems.

The implementation of the dolanan dance is packaged in real practice to make a dance that is interesting but like playing a game with friends. The dance innovations developed by the team can be easily understood by teachers so that teachers can easily create dolanan dances even though they do not have an art education background, making it easy to apply them for students with special needs.

In addition to providing insight and knowledge to teachers at SDN 2 Sukowinangun, the UNIPMA PPHP Team also provides training in Dolanan dance so that later it is expected to be a means of improving the motor skills and skills of Children with Special Needs (ABK). "We hope that the teachers at SD Negeri 2 Sukowinangun can apply the knowledge that we have provided so that children with special needs, apart from improving their skills, can also participate in efforts to preserve local wisdom, namely the dolanan dance," concluded Dahlia.
