Lecturers of the Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) carry out community service by applying technology in the world of education. Taking the theme “English Learning Training Workshop for Kindergarten Teachers and Making Learning Videos Using the Canva Application” on Wednesday (27/07/2022).

The activity, which was held in Selosari Village, Magetan, was in line with the work program of POKJA 2 PKK women in Selosari Village, Magetan, which focused on education.

Selosari Village Head, Saiful Priyo Utomo, SP. welcomes the collaboration between the UNIPMA English Education Study Program and the Selosari Village, Magetan. After that, it was continued with the presentation of material on English Language Learning for Kindergarten Teachers by Brigitta Septarini R, S.S., M.Pd. (English lecturer, UNIPMA) to training on making learning videos using the Canva application from Mrs. Tri Wahyuni ​​C, S.S., M.Pd. (lecturer of the UNIPMA Elementary School Teacher Education study program) to the Pokja 2 PKK women, Selosari Village, Magetan.

This event was conducted using a hybrid method, the presenters delivered online and offline which were also accompanied by two students from the UNIPMA 4th semester elementary school teacher education study program, Sherlin Norma Azzahra and Diana Citra Septiyani. They assist in the implementation of activities and also provide assistance to Pokja 2 PKK women in Selosari Village.

The use of the hybrid method is a challenge for us in organizing workshops. Nevertheless, the enthusiasm of the Pokja 2 PKK women in Selosari Magetan Village was extraordinary. Participants receive all the material and immediately apply it in making learning video products using the Canva application.

Tri Wahyuni ​​C, S.S., M.Pd. said "learning will be more fun, be it language learning or other subjects, if the learning activities are accompanied by easy-to-access and up-to-date learning media such as Canva media," he said.

The same thing was conveyed by Brigitta Septarini R, S.S., M.Pd. that "for learning English, as teachers we must be able to use learning media as well as possible, so that in learning English, children, especially at the kindergarten or elementary level, have an interest and enthusiasm in the learning process," he said.

Brigitta added that this workshop has a very extraordinary goal in the world of education which is expected to be able to make a direct contribution to the community in the introduction of English language materials and the creation of digital and modern learning media.
