Tuesday, 19 April 2022. The Central Bureau of Intellectual Property and Innovation (PIKI) Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) held an online “Socialization on the Protection of Intellectual Property Rights (HKI) through the zoom meeting platform on Monday, 18/04/2022.

The activity which was attended by lecturers and students within the UNIPMA FKIP was opened by the moderator, namely, Wachidatul Linda Yuhanna, S.Pd., M.Si, the secretary of the PIKI Bureau. Sardulo Gembong, M.Pd. In his remarks, the Dean of FKIP said that if you register an intellectual property right, you will get legal protection. "You as the owner of the work are certainly more flexible in utilizing the economic value of the copyrighted work without fear of violating the law," he said.

The resource persons in this activity are Dr. Darmadi, M.Pd. Head of PIKI UNIPMA Bureau who has long experience in the field of Intellectual Property Rights which includes patents, trademarks, and copyrights. Copyright is the executive right of the creator that arises automatically based on declarative principles after a work is realized in a tangible form without reducing restrictions in accordance with the provisions of laws and regulations.

In this socialization the resource person Dr. Darmadi, M.Pd. conveyed that Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) need to be introduced to students from an early age by implementing IPR completely and correctly, there is a great opportunity for students to produce high-quality and competitive works.

With this socialization activity, Darmadi hopes that it is hoped that students/lecturers will raise awareness about the importance of IPR and foster motivation to be creative, innovate and innovate. In addition, he also conveyed to students "not only to create and innovate but to protect it with the force of law so that the owner of the innovation idea or work is not plagiarized or recognized by irresponsible parties so that it is detrimental to the owner of the innovation idea or work itself," he said.
