PMM Nusantara Module students at Universitas PGRI Madiun paint and color batik at the Madiun Pure Batik Gallery

Friday, December 24, 2021. Saturday, December 18, 2021, is a fun day for PMM students in the Nusantara Module activity, because today students visit the Madiun Pure Batik gallery on Jalan Halmahera Madiun. On the occasion of this first visit, they were introduced to how to print well, how to give color to batik cloth and how to dye batik cloth that has been dyed so that it lasts and the color does not fade.

Students are also given the opportunity to stick on the batik cloth that has been drawn and give color to the batik cloth.

Students from the University of Bosowa, Iffah Zulva and Muthiah from the State University of Makassar, who couldn't wait to get hooked stated that this was their first time holding the canting and sticking it on batik cloth, “We've wanted to stick on this batik cloth for a long time, and we are very happy to have it. This time, we were able to attach directly to the batik cloth, thanks to the Nusantara Module activity.

In addition, Fadhila from Universitas PGRI Madiun of West Sumatra added that "I am very happy that apart from imprinting I can give color directly to batik cloth which can be very expensive".

The Nusantara Diversity Module Activity 4, a direct visit to the Pure Batik Gallery on Halmahera Street, was initially carried out online when PMM students were still in their respective areas, but when they came to PGRI Madiun University, they directly visited the Pure Batik Gallery and felt themselves hooked. and dyed batik cloth.

This Pure Batik Gallery is a Madiun batik production which is led directly by the originator of pure batik (natural materials) and batik pecel which is the hallmark of Madiun: Mrs. Sri Murniati. He strives to continue to preserve the batik tradition typical of the city of Madiun, not only pecel batik and pure batik which are famous for their batik patterns, but there are also Madiun characteristics, namely the million-flower batik pattern, the Pesilatan batik pattern, the pagoda batik pattern, and many more.

Message from the supervisor Mrs. Maya Kartika Sari, M, Pd, through this batik activity students are increasingly loving and proud of domestic products and continuing to preserve the culture and local wisdom of their respective regions. Hopefully students can make batik again at the Pure Batik Gallery on their next visit and can produce their own batik fabrics made in students on their next visit. Thank you Pure Batik Gallery.
