PHP2D PG PAUD UNIPMA Team Exhibits Gamurya Batik 

Wednesday, December 8, 2021. Batik was chosen because it is one of the identities and pride of the Indonesian nation. Batik has been recognized as one of the human heritages for oral and non-material culture (Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity) by UNESCO. The batik produced in Garon village is an activity of the Holistic Village Development and Empowerment Program carried out by the PHP2D team of PG-PAUD UNIPMA students with Advisory Lecturer Mrs. Sofia Nur Afifah, S.Pd., M.Pd.

On Saturday, November 27, 2021, at 08.00 until the end, the PHP2D team held a batik exhibition which was held at the Garon Village Hall, Kawedanan District, Magetan Regency, East Java. This event went smoothly because of the support from several parties, such as the Head of Garon Village and his apparatus, supervisors, UNIPMA College parties and the enthusiasm of the Garon village community and outside Garon village to attend the gamurya batik exhibition. The works exhibited at this exhibition are some of the results of batik from PKK women and young people from Garon Village youth organizations. This work is made using a batik technique using canting or writing and splashing. This batik technique was obtained from batik training which was carried out 3 times with the trainer coordinator, Mrs. Kartika Suci Paramida. He is a resident of Garon village who is also an artist and batik producer.

Dhea Septya Sahnanda, Head of the PHP2D PG PAUD Team said that the Gamurya batik exhibition event was an effort to inform and at the same time launch Batik Gamurya (Garon Muda Berkarya) so that all Garon village people and outside Garon village know that in Garon village also produces batik and splashes. with a distinctive motif, namely juwet and pottery motifs taken from natural resources and crafts in Garon village.

"Many activities are presented in this Gamurya Batik exhibition, such as the exhibition of batik results from PKK women and youth youth groups, children's fashion show using gamurya batik cloth and a bazaar from the Garon village community," he said.

In addition, one of the things that becomes another attraction is the text that contains an explanation of the motifs in the displayed batik. So in this exhibition not only presents interesting batik cloth but also can find out the meaning contained in each batik cloth that is displayed. In this event, visitors can also find out some of the tools used to make batik, such as canting with several sizes, electric stoves and frying pans, night for making batik.
One of the series of batik exhibition events is also a fashion show or batik fashion show. This fashion show was attended by several children who registered as participants in the fashion show. This event certainly attracts the public to visit as well as witness the batik exhibition around the place directly.
