Fourth Day, UNIPMA Students Are Provided with Tricks to Seize Job Opportunities During the Pandemic

Wednesday, November 11, 2021. The bad impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the global economy is very real, Indonesia is no exception, although it is predicted that it will get better. In addition to the very large unemployment rate, many jobs will certainly be lost, even if this pandemic ends it will be difficult to recover. This condition is a new challenge for job seekers to seize job opportunities during the pandemic.

In connection with this, UNIPMA provides briefing to Prospective Alumni Students with Tricks to Seize Job Opportunities During a Pandemic. The briefing was carried out online through a zoom meeting and a live youtube opened by the Dean of FEB UNIPMA, Dr. Aglis Andhita Hatmawan, MM and moderated by Rizal Ula Ananta Fauzi, S.E., M.M by presenting two speakers, namely Galih Ratih N (2017 Alumni), and Dinar Hana Sadriyantien W (Entrepreneur).

In his speech, Aglis said that to be able to explore great opportunities in this era of the industrial revolution 4.0, university graduates are required to not only have a high Grade Point Average, but they are also required to be able to communicate well, be able to manage their emotions well, and are able to be creative and innovate with the knowledge they already have.

“I hope students don't just focus on finding work, but also try to create job opportunities. Hopefully students can dig up a lot of information from the presenters related to the world of work and business,” he said.

The first speaker was Galih Ratih who presented material about the trick of getting away with being called to work by the company. Galih said that by beautifying the curriculum vitae (CV) could steal the attention of HRD. Starting with making a portfolio that is easy to understand, highlighting experience that is relevant to the position to be applied for, highlighting skills especially those that are rarely owned by others, and making an attractive CV design.

Seizing job opportunities during the pandemic can also be done by improving skills, both self-taught and those obtained through online lectures, industrial training, and courses. Then, build a network as wide as possible.

"Besides, be a selective job seeker, not picky," he explained Thursday (11/11) in delivering material through a zoom meeting.

In contrast, the second material is about building a business in the digital era by Dinar Hana. According to Dinar, establishing a business requires 3 main pillars, namely mindset, skillset, and soulset. “To start a business, you must first determine the goals, what the basic idea is, as well as the problems of the business plan. Record every problem and come up with a solution, then sell the solution to someone else,” he said.
