UNIPMA Webinar: The Role of Students as Agents of Change Supporting MSMEs during the Covid-19 Pandemic 

Wednesday, November 3, 2021. Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) have an important role in the economy and have the potential to continue to be improved in encouraging national economic growth. The description of MSMEs in the Indonesian economy from data sources processed by the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs, Kominfo and BPS in 2019, during the COVID-19 pandemic the effects on MSMEs were very large.

It can be seen that the statistics of MSMEs in Indonesia are dominated by micro enterprises, MSMEs contribute to GDP of around 61.07% and labor absorption is also high at around 97.02%. The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on MSMEs in non-financial problems faced during the pandemic turned out to be MSMEs, namely problems that arose from reduced orders/demands and increased difficulties in distributing business products and difficulties in obtaining raw materials.

In this regard, students must become agents of change to support SMEs during the Covid-19 pandemic. By holding an online Webinar on October 22, 2021 with Ramadhan Prasetya Wibawa, M.Pd. as Head of Economic Education Study Program. Ramadhan said that the role of students in terms of education was implemented by organizing LKTIN and organizing webinars.

In addition to education, students also play a role in the field of research, including the problem of targeting MSMEs in Madiun City, MSME problems during the Pandemic, so that students carry out research related to these MSME problems.

Students of the Economics Study Program as a Role in community service have carried out (four) services including helping to reference the use of online-based buying and selling platforms, digitizing marketing with e-commerce, making product photos and product promotions.
