UNIPMA English Education Study Program Holds Workshop on Curriculum Redesign 

Tuesday, October 5, 2021. UNIPMA English Education Study Program (PGRI Madiun University) held a Curriculum Redesign Workshop. The event was opened by the Dean of FKIP UNIPMA. Dr. dr. C Novi Primiani, M.Pd. This event presented a speaker from Sebelas Maret University, Prof. Dr. Joko Nurkamto, M.Pd.

This Curriculum Redesign Workshop was held online on 20 and 27 September 2021. This activity was attended by all English Education Study Program lecturers, stakeholders, alumni, and students.

“This workshop is one of the steps to implement government policies related to the independent learning program. The English Language Study Program wants to redesign its curriculum in accordance with the independent learning program for independent campuses," said the Head of the Workshop Committee. Dr. Erlik Widiyani Styati, M.Pd.

"After the presentation from the speaker on September 20, 2021, we will make the project, it will be consulted again to the resource person on September 27, 2021 yesterday," he said.

Erlik explained the reason for holding a workshop to discuss the redesign of this curriculum, namely to follow developments and consider, because it was carried out in a certain period of time, the last English Study Program was curriculum design in 2017, it is necessary to have a redesign now.

In addition, according to market demand, "So we want to know also the curriculum that has been implemented has fulfilled the market or not and now the curriculum is based on independent learning, while the current curriculum is still the KKNI curriculum, so that it can be adjusted". he added.

The curriculum will determine the competence and quality of students. Curriculum design will greatly affect the future of students after they study. A quality curriculum is a curriculum that is able to prepare and equip prospective graduates who are ready to compete according to the needs in the world of work.
