Build the Creative Economy of Hargomulyo Village Through Terrarium Art Souvenirs 

Wednesday, July 15, 2021. UNIPMA Community Service Student Creativity Program (PKMPM) team held a training activity for making Terrarium Art Souvenirs in Hargomulyo Village, Ngrambe District, Ngawi Regency on Thursday (24/06/2021). This activity is a downstream activity to develop a modern ornamental plant products developed on campus. This activity is supported by funds from the Ministry of Education and Culture Belmawa in 2021.

"The tourist attraction is empty of visitors and the economy of the surrounding community is starting to weaken," said Susilo, the village head of Hargomulyo. During PPKM, many youth and pokdarwis activities were not active. This triggered the PKMPM team driven by Maratul Azizah, Idzan and Mutia to reactivate community activities in building a creative economy based on ornamental plants. The PKMPM team is willing to travel 53 km with mountain tracks to be concerned about strengthening the skills and economy of the Hargomulyo village community

Ornamental plants and the concept of an urban garden are now a new hobby and lifestyle for the community. These opportunities and potentials must be responded to as one of the prospective business alternatives during the pandemic. The PKMPM team provided training on making Terrarium Art Souvenirs for the people of Hargomulyo Village. Terrarium is the art of growing flowers in glass bottles with soil, sand, gravel and moss growing media. Terrarium is currently in great demand by lovers of ornamental plants such as cacti, succulents and other plants. "This product is very unique and has potential in the midst of an increasing trend of ornamental plants," said Linda as a PKMPM assistant lecturer.

This training was attended by 20 youth groups and women around the Suwono Park tourist attraction and Bridal Waterfall. The training is carried out by strictly implementing health protocols during the pandemic. The development of the creative economy in making terrariums in Hargomulyo village is expected to be able to revive the community's economy during the pandemic.
