The Intellectual Property Center (KI) Bureau of the Universitas PGRI Madiun, held a Socialization of the Intellectual Property Center (KI) Strengthening Program, Wednesday, June 30, 2021 from 09.00 WIB to 10.30 WIB online through the Zoom Meeting application. The activity was opened by the Chancellor of UNIPMA, Prof. Dr. H. Parji, M.Pd. as well as launching the Intellectual Property Center Bureau (KI).

The socialization was delivered by the head of the Central Bureau of Intellectual Property (KI), Dr. Darmadi, M.Pd. In the socialization, he said that the Intellectual Property Center Bureau (KI) has the aim of increasing the number of IPR acquisitions and assisting efforts to commercialize IPR products for the academic community and the community around PGRI Madiun University.

In this case, many people do not understand the intricacies of IPR, and are even reluctant to register their work/findings. In addition, there is still a view that registering an intellectual invention/work requires a fairly expensive fee. Coupled with the long process to be able to obtain an IPR certificate.

"Even though the potential for works/inventions that can be registered with IPR is still very large, for that let us support and spur efforts to commercialize IPR products to anticipate violations of other people's Intellectual Property Rights," said Darmadi.

The UNIPMA KI center areas include Copyrights, Patents, Brands and Geographical Indications, Industrial Designs, Integrated Circuit Layout Designs, Trade Secrets, and Plant Varieties. This is to increase competition and also expand market share, especially in terms of the commercialization of intellectual property.
