Tjandra Kirana Team Wins 1st Place in Traditional Dance Competition at IAIN Ponorogo 

Friday, 19 February 2021. During this pandemic period, the Tjandra Kirana Dance UKM did not reduce the enthusiasm of Tjandra Kirana Dance to continue to produce works and produce achievements. So far, face-to-face restrictions have not diminished the enthusiasm of the Dance UKM in participating in online competitions. For example, the competition that was followed in the framework of the 17th Anniversary of UKM SEIYA with the theme of the UKM SEIYA 2020 art festival, a unit of cultural arts student activity at the Ponorogo State Islamic Institute.

The dance presented is the Dharmatama dance, a dance for the emancipation of women. TEAM Tjandra Kirana in the exercises did not have any major obstacles, it was just that the training schedule needed to be changed to make it compact. "We did the exercises approximately 10 to eleven times, it was felt that was enough for us to show," said Mrs. Sesaria Prima Yudhaningtyas, S.Pd., M.Pd. Tjandra Kirana UKM supervisor.

For the dance team, there are five of them 4 women and 1 boy. "We chose the video recording for this dance in the garden next to the Madiun City Government, so that it looks neat and beautiful," added Mrs. Sesaria Prima Yudhaningtyas, S.Pd., M.Pd. Tjandra Kirana UKM supervisor. He also did not expect to get 1st place in this competition.
