UNIPMA — In the classroom, students learn theory, while the workplace tests how that knowledge can be applied in practice. This opportunity was experienced by Tanisa Diva Prameswari, an Accounting Study Program student at Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA), through an internship program at the Madiun City Regional Revenue Agency (BAPENDA).

For Tanisa, the internship was not merely an academic obligation but an opportunity to get a “head start” in experiencing the professional world before completing her studies. From July 15 to September 15, 2026, she applied her accounting knowledge while developing skills in administration, data processing, billing, auditing, and bookkeeping.

“During the internship, I had the opportunity to apply the knowledge I gained during my studies to the professional world,” Tanisa said on Saturday (5/9).

The experience became even more diverse as Tanisa was assigned to two different sections. During approximately the first month, she worked in the Secretariat, handling administrative tasks, before moving to the Billing, Auditing, and Bookkeeping Division.

In that division, Tanisa was involved in billing activities, reviewing data and documents, as well as bookkeeping under the guidance of staff and her supervisor, Varian Syahtama Dhamar Aji, S.STP., M.A.P.

In addition to technical skills, these activities strengthened her attention to detail, discipline, and sense of responsibility. Tanisa was also involved in recording and managing data to make the bookkeeping process more structured and easier to review.

“My hope is that this internship experience will enhance my understanding and skills in accounting, particularly in billing, auditing, and bookkeeping, as preparation for entering the workforce,” she said.

During the internship, Tanisa received guidance from her academic supervisor, Dr. Anny Widiasmara, S.E., M.Si., CSRS, Head of the Accounting Study Program at UNIPMA. The guidance helped connect her field experience with the competencies she learned during her studies.

Tanisa’s experience demonstrates that students can gain exposure to the professional world before graduation through internship opportunities. Beyond testing their abilities, such experiences provide a space to develop professional work habits and prepare for their career journey.
