Bushido INKAI Student Activity Unit (UKM) UNIPMA 2026 Successfully Held: Instilling Discipline and Character Values in Karate Practitioners

UNIPMA – The Institute Karate-do Indonesia (INKAI) Student Activity Unit (UKM) of Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) successfully organized the Bushido UKM INKAI 2026 program on May 30–31, 2026. The event took place in Rooms A-311, A-312, A-313, A-314, and the front yard of the Manufacturing Laboratory at UNIPMA Campus 1. It was attended by all members and administrators of UKM INKAI as part of a character-building and karateka development program.

The Chairperson of Bushido UKM INKAI 2026, Dayu Murti, stated that the activity aimed to strengthen solidarity among members, improve discipline, and instill the values of Bushido, which serve as the foundation for character development in karate. These values include courage, honor, discipline, sincerity, responsibility, and self-control.

“The Bushido program is conducted as part of the member development process and as a continuation of the organization’s cadre development efforts. Karate not only teaches self-defense techniques but also builds character and mental resilience,” she said on Monday (June 1).

The event began on Saturday (May 30) with participant registration and an opening ceremony. Participants then took part in a series of activities, including singing the Indonesian national anthem Indonesia Raya, opening remarks from the organizing committee chairperson, a joint prayer session, and a presentation delivered by Toni Cahya Nugraha, S.M.

During the session, Toni Cahya Nugraha presented material on the history of INKAI’s establishment at UNIPMA, as well as an introduction to the kata and techniques practiced within INKAI karate. The presentation aimed to provide participants with insights into the organization’s development and the fundamental principles of karate implemented within UKM INKAI UNIPMA.

Following the presentation and discussion session, the event continued with a communal dinner and the Bushido Art Performance (Pentas Seni/Pensi). This agenda provided participants with an opportunity to showcase their creativity while strengthening relationships among members.

On the second day, Sunday (May 31), activities began with congregational dawn prayer (Subuh) and breakfast together. Participants then took part in Kihon training, guided by coach Sensei Lasimin alongside Senpai Purnomo. The program continued with outbound activities designed to develop teamwork, unity, and communication among members.

Dayu Murti and Awanda Putri, who served as activity facilitators, explained that in addition to INKAI members and administrators, the event also involved the organizing committee, guest speakers, as well as several karate coaches and senior practitioners, including Sensei Lasimin, Senpai Purnomo, and Senpai Bagus, an alumnus of the organization and a UNIPMA student.

Bushido itself is a philosophy originating from Japan and is widely known as the code of life of the samurai. Within UKM INKAI, Bushido is applied as a development program that focuses not only on physical abilities but also on building karate practitioners with integrity and a strong sense of responsibility.

Through this activity, UKM INKAI UNIPMA hopes to produce resilient and disciplined karate practitioners who possess a true warrior spirit and uphold the values of brotherhood. In addition, members are expected to become more loyal to the organization, continue developing their mental and physical potential, and contribute positively to the achievements and reputation of both UKM INKAI and Universitas PGRI Madiun in the future.
