The Wall Climbing Student Activity Unit (UKM) of Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) held sports activities and rock climbing training on December 27–28, 2025, at Kertoembo Waterfall, Sumberagung Village, Kare District, Madiun Regency. This activity emphasized vertical sport practices, specifically rappelling, with a focus on safety, teamwork, and participants' mental strengthening in open natural terrain.

The activity was attended by old and new members of UNIPMA Wall Climbing UKM as well as university students. They received guidance from Yona Bayu Prasetyo, M.Or., AIFO, the UKM supervising lecturer, Agus Kudori from BPBD and FPTI, Mapala Bhiraswapa of Universitas Merdeka Madiun, Mapala Cakramanggala of Politeknik Negeri Madiun, as well as the Kandangan tourism managers.

The Chairperson of UNIPMA Wall Climbing UKM, Ardi Dian Andayani, said that the activity aimed to improve technical rappelling skills according to safety standards, train mental and physical readiness in vertical terrain, strengthen member solidarity, and foster care for the natural environment.

“The biggest challenges were the slippery and challenging terrain, limited time, and differences in participants' experience levels. However, those challenges could be overcome through mature briefing, strict supervision, and solid teamwork,” said Dian, Friday (2/1).

Apart from technical aspects, this activity served as a means of continuous learning for UKM members, improving skills, safety, and adaptability in the open nature. With the spirit of “humming with nature” (bersenandung dengan alam), this activity also encouraged participants to care more about environmental preservation while fostering positive experiences outside the classroom.

This activity is expected to be continuously developed as a positive activity that supports student achievement and forms UKM members who are professional, resilient, and environmentally conscious.
