UNIPMAs 5th ICETECH Successfully Implemented, Encouraging Collaboration for a Sustainable Future
Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) again recorded an international achievement through the 5th International Conference on Environment and Technology (ICETECH) which was successfully held online via Zoom Meeting on 30-31 October 2024, yesterday. The conference was opened by Dr Jeffry Handika, M.Pd (UNIPMA Vice Chancellor for Division IV), marking the start of the forum with the theme, ‘Multidisciplinary Approaches to SDGs for Sustainable Future.’
ICETECH is one of UNIPMA's flagship international conferences which aims to be a forum for exchanging innovative ideas in various multidisciplinary fields. At the 5th ICETECH, the keynote speakers presented came from various world-renowned institutions, namely:
- Prof. Jyh Min Chiang
- Assoc. Prof. Dr Norashikin Ahmad Kamal
- Assoc. Prof. Malen Abespanol
- Dr Bambang EHC, M.Pd.
In their presentation, the keynote speakers discussed various strategic issues related to sustainability, including STEAM-based education, digital humanities, artificial intelligence, applied science, financial technology, and digital education.
Event Director, Mrs Yessi Yunitasari, S.Kom., M.Cs, explained that the 5th ICETECH aims to be a forum for researchers, academics, experts, educators, students, and stakeholders to exchange experiences and research results.
‘This conference discusses relevant global issues, ranging from curriculum and learning, digital entrepreneurship, to multidisciplinary approaches in education to support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs),’ Mrs Yessi Yunitasari, S.Kom., M.Cs.
Not only a discussion forum, ICETECH also brought together various universities from within and outside the country, including:
- STKIP PGRI Ponorogo
- STKIP PGRI Trenggalek
- PGRI Adi Buana University Surabaya
- Central Mindanao University (CMU), Philippines
- Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST), Philippines
- Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College (ISPSC), Philippines
The active participation of these institutions shows the high enthusiasm for the development of innovative ideas and cross-country collaboration for a sustainable future.
The conference is expected to not only be a place to exchange knowledge but also facilitate the development of quality ideas that are able to contribute to global challenges. ‘We hope ICETECH can be a trigger for collaborative cooperation that is beneficial for the present and the future,’ said Yessi.
The organisation of the 5th ICETECH is also proof of UNIPMA's commitment in supporting the development of multidisciplinary-based science that is relevant to global issues, especially in supporting the achievement of SDGs. Through this step, UNIPMA continues to show its role as a higher education institution that actively contributes to producing a globally competitive generation.
