UNIPMA Pharmacy Study Programme Visit to PT Victoria Care Indonesia Tbk, Build Global Competence and Open Opportunities for Cooperation in the Field of Guest Lectures to Research 

The Pharmacy Study Programme of Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) successfully carried out an industrial visit on Thursday, 14/11/2024, yesterday at PT Victoria Care Indonesia Tbk, Semarang. This activity aims to implement the concept of Merdeka Learning Campus Merdeka (MBKM) while connecting the theories learned in the classroom with real practices in the industrial world.

Students are invited to gain hands-on experience in the field of industrial pharmacy, especially in the formulation and technology of liquids preparations and prescriptions. In addition, Celosia Park was chosen as an additional location to enrich students' understanding of pharmaceutical botany, especially medicinal plants that are often used in the pharmaceutical world.

This visit is a strategic step in equipping students with practical knowledge and soft skills that are relevant to the needs of the world of work. PT Victoria Care Indonesia Tbk, which focuses on herbal-based cosmetics, is a place of learning as well as inspiration for students in facing the challenges of the modern pharmaceutical industry.

This activity is also expected to strengthen the relationship between the UNIPMA Pharmacy Study Programme and PT Victoria Care Indonesia Tbk. through collaboration opportunities in the fields of guest lectures, Pharmacist Professional Work Practices (PKPA), internships, and joint research.

During the visit, students were accompanied by competent lecturers from the Pharmacy Study Programme, namely, Dioni Fadia Zatalini, M. Farm, Apt. Desi Kusumawati, M. Farm-Clin., Apt. Zedny Norachurya, M. Farm-Clin, and Dra. Arum Suproborini, M. Si.

Some of the main activities carried out include:

  • Factory Tour: Students saw first-hand the production process, starting from filling, labelling, to product packing.
  • Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) Tour: Knowledge about the importance of industrial waste management.
  • Mini Museum and Mini Theatre: History and production process of PT Victoria Care Indonesia Tbk.
  • Herbal Drink Making Practice: Introduction to the company's flagship products and massage techniques.
  • Beauty Class: Introducing trending herbal-based cosmetic products.

The chief executive of the activity, Dioni Fadia Zatalini, M. Farm, stated that this visit provides applicative experience for students while opening up opportunities to expand academic and industrial collaboration.

With this activity, students are expected to be able to develop practical skills that are relevant to the world of work. In addition, PT Victoria Care Indonesia Tbk. is expected to be a strategic partner for students' Field Work Practice (PKL) activities, so that they gain an in-depth understanding of the dynamics of the pharmaceutical industry, especially herbal-based cosmetics.

This visit is clear evidence of the UNIPMA Pharmacy Study Programme's efforts to support the implementation of MBKM and prepare students to become graduates who are ready to compete in the global era.
