UNIPMA Postgraduate Public Lecture: Innovative Strategies to Improve the Quality of Digital-Based Education
The Postgraduate School of Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) organised a public lecture on Friday, 18/10/2024, yesterday at the UNIPMA Integrated Lab. This event was prioritised for new students, but was also attended by old students and alumni. The theme of the public lecture was ‘Strategies for Improving the Quality of Digital-Based Education’, which is relevant to the competency demands of the 21st century, especially for teachers.
This theme was chosen because teachers in the digital era are expected to be able to master information and communication technology (ICT) to support innovative learning. With a good understanding of school digitalisation, teachers and principals can improve the overall quality of education. In addition, the learning process becomes more effective and efficient, which ultimately contributes to improving student learning outcomes.
The main speaker in this public lecture was Dr Lismawati, M.Pd. (Head of Madiun City Education Office), who presented material on strategies to improve the quality of education through the use of digital technology. The event was attended by the rectorate, postgraduate dean, lecturers, and students from various S2 study programmes, such as Social Studies Education, PBSI, BK, and Basic Education.
UNIPMA Rector, Dr Supri Wahyudi Utomo, M.Pd, in his speech said that this public lecture is an annual routine agenda to enrich students' insights. ‘This is a means for students to increase knowledge and experience,’ he said.
Meanwhile, the person in charge of the UNIPMA Postgraduate School public lecture, Dr. Sudarmiani, M.Pd, added that the purpose of this public lecture is to deepen students' understanding in the fields listed in the curriculum, as well as refresh the learning process so that students are able to adapt to the demands of the globalisation era and the increasingly competitive world of work.
This public lecture also provides space for participants to discuss directly with the speakers through question and answer sessions. The hope is that students can improve their competence in mastering learning technology and be able to develop more innovative learning methods in accordance with the material that has been presented.
