Chemical Engineering Lecturer Perform Community Service and Collaborate with KKN Students

Garbage if it piles up will cause problems, such as bad smell, spoil the view, and disturb the beauty. Waste problems require good management and cooperation between the local government and local residents. As happened in Kenongorejo Village, Pilangkenceng sub-district, Madiun Regency.

The problem that occurs in the village is the final waste disposal site which is still not organized. Apart from that, this village has actually implemented a waste bank, but it has only been running for a few months, and waste processing is not yet active.

Understanding this was responded by the Lecturer of the UNIPMA Madiun chemical engineering study program to carry out community service, namely Mrs. Dyan Hatining Ayu S, S.T., M.T and Mrs. Ade Trisnawati, S.Pd., M.Pd.

Both delivered materials related to household waste-based waste management and how to use it to become liquid fertilizer. Curiosity was heightened because the method for liquid fertilizer was explained in such detail using only the equipment at home. The activity ended with a question and answer session to the participants who took part in the activity.

This activity was well received leading to the event that the activity was well received by the village and received full support from the village. "From today's activities, I hope we can all learn and be able to apply the waste management program for at home. It is possible that village problems can also be resolved regarding waste. The village certainly appreciates the activities carried out by UNIPMA lecturers who work closely with KKN students here. " said the Head of Kenongorejo Village, Tatang Heru Purnomo.
