Celebrating 77 Years of Indonesian Independence, UNIPMA: Cultural Diversity and World Citizenship 

Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) together with art activists from the residency of Madiun and its surroundings held an art performance with the theme "UNIPMA: Cultural Diversity and World Citizenship" to celebrate the 77th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia at Aston Hotel Madiun on Saturday night, (20 /8/2022).

The event was attended by the Head of Bakorwil represented by the Head of Community Affairs, Provincial DPRD., represented by Diana A.V. Sasa, S.S. Chairman of the DPRD of Madiun City, H. Fery Sudarsono, Chancellor of UNIPMA, Dr. Supri Wahyudi Utomo, M.Pd. UNIPMA Deputy Chancellor for Division I, Dr. Elva Nuraina, SE., M.Sc. Members of GRANAT (Anti-Narcotics Movement) as well as writers and art activists throughout the residency of Madiun, and its surroundings.

Chairman of the Event Committee, Dr. Dwi Rohman Soleh, S.S., M.Pd. said, this activity is an effort to reunite arts and culture to knit brotherhood. He also said that there was a strong message that he and his friends wanted to convey about diversity, love for national culture and togetherness.

"Indonesia is rich in arts and culture, folk songs, traditional musical instruments, and dances. This diversity is a characteristic of the nation that should be preserved so that it can become a binder for all elements of the nation to continue to uphold the spirit of nationalism," he said.

Interestingly, the event began with the presentation of a video saying independence from Foreign Universities that were UNIPMA's partners in the independent student exchange program. Among them are from Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT-U) Philippines, University of Santo Thomas (UST) Philippines, Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) Philippines, Director of External Linkages Saint Louis University Philippines, Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU). ) Philippines, Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University (MCU) Thailand, Udon Thani Rajabhat University (UDRU) Thailand, Chaoyang University of Technology (CYUT), Taiwan, and Asian Languages ​​& Cultures, Nanyang Technological University Singapore, Contrastive Linguistics University of Bialystok Poland.

UNIPMA Chancellor, Dr. Supri Wahyudi Utomo, M.Pd. said by taking the UNIPMA theme: Cultural Diversity and World Citizenship, this is a manifestation of UNIPMA's commitment to preserving and preserving culture. In the future, the Chancellor hopes for art activists to schedule cultural preservation activities by cooperating with all universities in Madiun.

In this case, art activists really appreciate UNIPMA's efforts in preserving culture. The Chancellor of UNIPMA also appreciated foreign students who still remember their place of study, namely UNIPMA by giving greetings on the Republic of Indonesia's independence day. He also hopes that they can establish even greater collaborations.

Meanwhile, Diana A.V. Sasa, S.S. member of Commission A of the DPRD of East Java Province revealed that the activity was very good and should be continued in the future, his party also appreciated UNIPMA already having a global vision, collaboration and conducting joint research with foreign universities.

"Hopefully, the pattern of education will develop further, and the generation that will produce a generation of superior quality," he hoped.

This activity was also enlivened by poetry reading performances, poetry musicals by art activists as well as lecturers and students from UNIPMA, not only that there was also a modern art dance performance by UNIPMA students.

In the event there was also the signing of the MOU of UNIPMA with Grenades by the Chancellor of UNIPMA and the Secretary of the Grenades.

This activity spreads the spirit and love for the culture of the country. Especially the younger generation as the hope of the nation's successor to love and be proud of the richness of Indonesian culture.
