Strengthening International Networks, UNIPMA Attends ACT + Korea Convention 2026 in Singapore

UNIPMA – Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) participated in the 40th ASIAN Council of Teachers (ACT) + Korea Convention 2026, held on October 22–25, 2026, at D’Marquee, Singapore. At this international forum, UNIPMA was represented by Rector Dr. Supri Wahyudi Utomo, M.Pd., and Prof. Parji, M.Pd., to expand academic networks while keeping up with developments in educational innovation, particularly the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

This year’s convention carried the theme “Navigating Our Future Steered by Teachers: Anchored in Relationships, Propelled by AI”. The theme highlighted the role of teachers in guiding the future of education while continuing to prioritize human relationships amid the development of AI technology.

According to a report submitted by Dr. Supri Wahyudi Utomo, M.Pd., to the university’s public relations team, the convention served as a platform for exchanging ideas and innovative teaching practices among education professionals from various countries. “The forum also discussed the use of AI in the learning process without overlooking the role of educators in building relationships with students,” he said.

Discussions on AI are also relevant to the development of higher education. The use of technology can support learning innovation, but its implementation must continue to take into account students’ needs and the role of educators in the educational process.

Beyond learning development, international networks have the potential to support the implementation of the Tridharma of Higher Education, particularly through knowledge exchange, research development, and the application of educational innovations tailored to community needs. However, follow-up initiatives from the forum are essential to ensure that the exchange of ideas delivers tangible benefits for institutional development.

Participation in this convention is also aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4 on Quality Education and Goal 17 on Partnerships for the Goals. Both goals emphasize the importance of improving educational quality and strengthening cooperation to address shared challenges.

Through its participation in the ACT + Korea Convention 2026, UNIPMA is keeping abreast of international education issues while expanding opportunities for knowledge exchange and cross-border academic collaboration.
