FEB UNIPMA Equips Students with Investment Knowledge, from Stock Mechanisms to Risk

UNIPMA — The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) of Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) equipped students with basic investment knowledge and skills through the Capital Market Practitioner Class titled Beyond the Classroom: Inside the Market at the FT UNIPMA Auditorium on Tuesday (6/10).

The activity, initiated by the FEB UNIPMA Investment Gallery, collaborated with the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) and Phintraco Sekuritas. The materials covered capital market fundamentals, stock investment mechanisms, basic stock analysis, and risk management.

Dean of FEB UNIPMA, Dr. Anggita Langgeng Wijaya, S.E., M.Si., attended the event as a form of faculty support for capital market education activities for students, accompanied by FEB UNIPMA lecturers.

The activity, initiated by the FEB UNIPMA Investment Gallery, also involved the Head of the FEB UNIPMA Investment Gallery, Sendy Dwi Haryanto, S.Pd., M.A. The capital market education was part of an effort to provide students with an understanding of investment while increasing their awareness of various risks, including illegal or fraudulent investment offers.

The first session was delivered by Ari Seta Kurniawan, Trainer at the IDX Central Java Regional Office 2. He explained the structure and mechanisms of the capital market, as well as the fundamental aspects that need to be understood before someone begins investing.

“Before becoming an investor, young people must first understand the market structure and its mechanisms. Don’t just follow trends without knowing the fundamentals,” Ari explained.

Meanwhile, Kartika Nugroho, Executive Trainer at Phintraco Sekuritas, discussed basic stock analysis and how to deal with price fluctuations. She explained that investment decisions need to take into account both potential returns and the risk of losses.

“Stock investment is not just about pursuing profits, but also about being responsive in reading situations and managing risks. Every financial decision must be rational, not emotional,” Kartika emphasized.

Students participated in the sessions and discussions throughout the event. The training is expected to help students understand the capital market before making investment choices and become more careful in managing financial risks.
