UNIPMA Opens Opportunities for Academic and Research Exchange Through Southeast Asian University Cooperation
UNIPMA – Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) is expanding opportunities for cross-border academic cooperation through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with three higher education institutions from Indonesia, the Philippines, and Vietnam. The agreement covers education, research, academic exchange, community service, and capacity building.
The signing took place in a hybrid format on Tuesday (September 22), yesterday, as part of the ASEAN Pathways: Bulacan State University and International Partners – MoU Signing agenda, which was hosted by Bulacan State University (BULSU), Philippines. The event brought together UNIPMA, BULSU, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), and Tan Trao University, Vietnam.
The cooperation opens opportunities for UNIPMA students and lecturers to participate in various international academic activities. For students, the network can provide opportunities to gain learning experiences in different educational environments while broadening their perspectives through interaction with academic communities from other countries.
In the academic field, the agreement also provides opportunities for joint research development and activities among the participating universities. Cross-border collaboration can support knowledge exchange and capacity building for lecturers and students in accordance with the areas agreed upon by each institution.
Representing UNIPMA at the signing were Rector Dr. Supri Wahyu Utomo, accompanied by Vice Rector III Jeffry Handhika and Head of the Bureau of Cooperation and Public Relations Dr. Sri Lestari, M.Pd. Meanwhile, BULSU was represented by President Dr. Teddy C. San Andres, UPI by President Prof. Dr. Didi Sukyadi, and Tan Trao University by President Prof. Dr. Pham Duy Hung.
Dr. Sri Lestari, M.Pd., said the signing of the MoU was part of efforts to expand opportunities for collaboration among higher education institutions. “The signing of this MoU marks a momentum to expand opportunities for collaboration among higher education institutions,” she said.
In addition to the MoU signing, the agenda featured remarks from university leaders, cultural performances, and statements of commitment from partner institutions. The meeting further strengthened higher education networks among Indonesia, the Philippines, and Vietnam.
For UNIPMA, the agreement provides a foundation for developing international programs that can deliver direct benefits to its academic community. The subsequent implementation of the cooperation will determine the forms of programs that can be realized, ranging from academic activities and research to exchanges and community service.
