Supporting the Three Pillars of Higher Education, UNIPMA Optimizes AI for Learning and Research
UNIPMA — Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) is encouraging students to utilize artificial intelligence (AI) technology to support academic activities, research, and the development of professional skills.
This effort was carried out through a training program titled Utilization of Artificial Intelligence for UNIPMA Students, organized by the UNIPMA Student Affairs Bureau (BKM) at the Auditorium Laboratory, 4th Floor of the Faculty of Engineering Building, on Tuesday (22/9).
The activity was held in collaboration with AIM ASEAN and involved Kumpul Impact and Bisajadi.co.id as the coaching and training team. The training featured Imaduddin Ifai, a Professional Coach & Mentor Digital Marketing, who provided practical insights into the use of AI in academic settings and the professional world.
Head of the Student Achievement Division at BKM UNIPMA, Dr. Wachidatul Linda Yuhanna, S.Pd., M.Si., said the activity was part of efforts to improve students’ digital literacy while expanding UNIPMA’s collaboration with various partners.
“The goal is to improve digital literacy and the use of AI among students,” she said.
According to her, students need to have the skills to use AI appropriately, rather than simply follow technological developments. Its use can be directed toward supporting various academic and non-academic needs, including business development.
“Students are expected to be wiser in choosing the AI tools that are suitable for supporting their studies, businesses, and other needs,” she added.
In addition to improving digital skills, the activity was also aimed at strengthening UNIPMA’s collaborative network at both national and international levels. For this activity, AIM ASEAN delegated Kumpul Impact and Bisajadi.co.id as coaches or speakers.
BKM UNIPMA also hopes that the training will not remain a one-time activity. Similar programs are planned to be developed further to provide students with opportunities to update their skills in line with the development of AI technology.
“We hope activities like this can continue and provide other relevant training opportunities for students,” said Wachidatul Linda Yuhanna, S.Pd., M.Si.
The optimization of AI is part of efforts to strengthen the digital learning ecosystem at UNIPMA. The technology is expected to serve as a supporting tool for learning and research while maintaining critical thinking, academic ethics, information verification, and data security.
Efforts to strengthen digital skills and utilize technology in education are also in line with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 on Quality Education, particularly in improving skills that are relevant to technological developments.
The use of AI for learning and research is also related to SDG 9 on Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure through the development of innovation and digital ecosystems within higher education institutions.
Students who participated in the activity received certificates of participation that can be used as part of their academic portfolios and Skill Passport. Thus, the training was not only aimed at introducing AI technology but also at developing skills that can support students’ academic and professional needs.
