UNIPMA Postgraduate Graduation Ceremony, Rector Emphasizes the Importance of Technology Adaptation and Lifelong Learning

UNIPMA — A total of 389 postgraduate students of Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) participated in the second-semester graduation ceremony for the 2025/2026 Academic Year at Graha Cendekia on Friday (17/9). UNIPMA Rector Dr. Supri Wahyudi Utomo, M.Pd., urged graduates not to stop learning after earning their Master of Education (M.Pd.) degree, but to continue developing their competencies and adapting to technological developments.

According to Dr. Supri Wahyudi Utomo, M.Pd., a master's degree carries greater responsibility. The knowledge gained during postgraduate study should be applied through work, the development of knowledge, and community service.

“A master's degree is certainly not merely something to boast about, but it comes with greater responsibility,” he said.

Amid rapid technological changes, Dr. Supri Wahyudi Utomo, M.Pd., urged graduates to utilize technology to support their work. The ability to adapt is considered important so that graduates do not fall behind the changing times.

“If we cannot adapt to change, we will be overtaken by the change itself,” he added.

He also emphasized the importance of lifelong learning. According to him, obtaining an academic degree does not mark the end of the learning process. “Learning is not limited by age. We must continue learning,” he concluded.

The graduation ceremony was attended by students from the Master's Programs in Indonesian Language and Literature Education (PBSI), Social Sciences Education (PIPS), Elementary Education (Dikdas), and Guidance and Counseling. PBSI and PIPS hold Unggul accreditation status, while the Elementary Education program holds Baik Sekali accreditation status.

Dean of the UNIPMA School of Postgraduate Studies Dr. Dwi Rohman Soleh, M.Pd., said the university remains open to alumni who wish to pursue further studies or establish cooperation with the institutions where they work. “The hope is that it does not stop at the master's level; we hope you can continue,” he said.

Among the hundreds of participants, Siswanto Dwi Antoto achieved the highest GPA, with a score of 4.00 from the Elementary Education Program. Sumarsih from PIPS achieved a GPA of 3.98, Dwi Zaini Imron Susilo from Guidance and Counseling 3.87, and Eksanti Yolla Mahdhalena from PBSI 3.85.

UNIPMA also provides opportunities for graduates to continue their studies at the doctoral level. Registration for the current academic year has closed because the quota has been filled and will reopen in the next admission period.

The university will continue to maintain relations with alumni through the Alumni Family Association (IKA), including opportunities for cooperation with institutions where alumni work.

Meanwhile, the graduation ceremony for this period is scheduled to be held in two sessions on October 28 and 31, 2026. The ceremony is divided into two sessions because the total number of graduates exceeds 1,600.
