UNIPMA — Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) encourages Guidance and Counseling (BK) students to create works that can be utilized in guidance and counseling services at schools. This initiative is implemented through learning activities that connect course materials with real-world needs in the field.

The effort was demonstrated through the Madiun Regency Guidance and Counseling Teachers’ Working Group (MG BK) Exhibition, themed “Creative Guidance and Counseling: Creating, Innovating & Making an Impact,” held at SMP Negeri 1 Balerejo, Madiun, on Tuesday (6/8).

Person in Charge Dr. Ratih Christiana, S.Pd., M.Pd., stated that the exhibition serves as a platform to connect higher education learning with guidance and counseling practices in schools. “Learning in higher education does not stop in the classroom, but can be transformed into works that are present and provide benefits in real-world practice,” she said.

During the exhibition, guidance and counseling teachers presented various works, creative ideas, and innovations developed to support services in schools. For students, the activity also provided an overview of how ideas gained during their studies can be applied to address practical needs in the field.

This approach is related to the Techno Edupreneurship course at the undergraduate (S1) level. Students are encouraged to develop creative ideas that have practical value and can be developed into applicable works.

Meanwhile, at the master’s (S2) level, the development of works is carried out through the Development of ICT in Guidance and Counseling course. Students learn how to utilize technology to support guidance and counseling services according to practical needs in schools.

Dr. Ratih Christiana, S.Pd., M.Pd., explained that learning from these two courses is then directed toward creating works that can be introduced and utilized in guidance and counseling practices. In this way, students’ learning outcomes do not remain merely as coursework assignments.

“What students learn is directed toward producing something that can be applied and provide a real impact,” she explained.

The development of these works does not stop at the exhibition. UNIPMA provides opportunities for students’ works to be continuously improved through the involvement of the university, guidance and counseling teachers, the MG BK, and schools.

For the UNIPMA Guidance and Counseling Education Study Program, this approach places creativity and usefulness as integral parts of the learning process. Students not only learn to understand guidance and counseling concepts but are also trained to produce works that are relevant to the needs of school-based services.
