FT UNIPMA Strengthens Faculty Publications Through Workshop on Writing Articles for Reputable Journals
UNIPMA — The Faculty of Engineering (FT) at Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) strengthened its efforts to improve the quality of faculty members’ scientific publications through a Workshop on Writing Scientific Articles for Reputable Journals, held at the UNIPMA Integrated Laboratory on Monday (31/8).
The workshop featured Dr. Heri Septya Kusuma, S.Si., M.T., as the speaker. The workshop was part of the Faculty of Engineering’s program to encourage faculty members to produce scientific articles that are better prepared for publication in reputable international journals.
Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at UNIPMA, Nasrul Rofiah Hidayati, S.T., M.Pd., opened the event, which was attended by members of the Faculty of Engineering’s academic community, including faculty members and staff.
During the workshop, participants received guidance on the stages of writing scientific articles, from developing research ideas and building an article structure to selecting suitable journals and preparing manuscripts in accordance with scientific publication standards.
The material went beyond theoretical presentations. Participants were also guided to develop their manuscripts in a more structured manner so that research findings could be transformed into articles with academic contributions and better publication prospects.
This approach is important because the quality of an article is determined not only by the research findings but also by the author’s ability to present the research substance in accordance with the characteristics of the target journal.
The program will subsequently enter the coaching stage, which will provide more intensive assistance with participants’ articles. The first session is scheduled for Monday (14/9) in Room E203 of the Faculty of Engineering Building, with an agenda covering journal selection, article revision, and substantive refinement.
The mentoring will continue on Monday (21/9) at the same location. During the second session, participants will focus on finalizing their manuscripts through the submission process to their target journals.
The coaching sessions will involve Dr. Ir. Wildanul Isnaini, S.T., M.Sc., and Dr. Ir. Nur Ihda Farikhatin Nisa, S.T., M.T., as the mentoring team.
The workshop and coaching series also provides participants with an e-certificate equivalent to 150 JP for those who complete the entire program.
The Faculty of Engineering at UNIPMA considers this program part of efforts to strengthen the research and publication culture within the academic community. Mentoring through the submission stage is expected to ensure that improvements in writing capacity do not stop at training but continue with the production of articles ready to be submitted to journals in accordance with their respective fields of study.
Through this series of activities, the Faculty of Engineering at UNIPMA also seeks to increase faculty publication productivity while expanding the contribution of research to the advancement of knowledge at both national and international levels.
