Searching for the 2027 PGSD Ambassadors, UNIPMA Tests Candidates’ Academic Abilities and Talents
UNIPMA — The selection of the 2027 PGSD Ambassadors of Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) has entered the candidate screening stage through talent tests and catwalk sessions. This stage is part of a series of selections to determine the six best participants, consisting of three male and three female candidates, who will advance to the grand final.
The selection process is conducted in two rounds. The first round was held on Friday, August 28, at the third floor of UNIPMA Campus 2, rooms B.301-B.305, featuring written and interview tests.
The second round was subsequently held on Saturday, August 29, in rooms B.301 and B.302 of Campus 2. Participants took part in catwalk and talent tests as part of the assessment to determine the best candidates for the 2027 PGSD Ambassadors.
The event was also attended by the Head of the PGSD Study Program at UNIPMA, Dr. Endang Sri Maruti, M.Pd. The presence of the study program representatives served as a form of support for the selection process of students who are expected to represent PGSD.
The talent test was not merely an opportunity for participants to showcase their abilities. The committee also assessed the extent to which their talents could be developed and connected to the characteristics of students in the Elementary School Teacher Education (PGSD) program.
Muhammad Iqbal Wahyu Pradana, the chairperson of the organizing committee, explained that the test was designed to assess participants’ abilities while exploring their potential for development within the context of PGSD.
“The talent test aims to identify participants’ abilities that can be developed and interpreted within the context of PGSD,” Iqbal said.
According to him, participants were also assessed based on how they developed or deepened their respective talents. Thus, non-academic abilities became one of the considerations in determining which candidates would advance to the next stage.
The selection carries the theme “Ignite Intelligence, Radiate Creativity, Create PGSD Ambassadors Who Inspire the Generation.” The theme serves as the basis for seeking ambassador figures who possess not only academic abilities but also creativity and the potential to represent PGSD students.
In the first round, the written test was assessed by the PGSD Ambassador committee. Meanwhile, the interview involved Sesaria along with the 2026 PGSD Ambassadors, Valentino and Retno. In the second round, the catwalk and talent tests were assessed by Sesaria Prima Yudhaningtyas, S.Pd., M.Pd., and Eka Nofri Ari Yanto, S.Pd., M.Pd.
The selection process is aimed at narrowing down the participants to six of the best candidates. They will then compete in the grand final to determine the 2027 Male and Female PGSD Ambassadors.
Iqbal hopes that the selected 2027 PGSD Ambassador pair will demonstrate a balance of academic and non-academic abilities. They are also expected to serve as role models for other students and contribute positively to the community.
“The hope is that PGSD will have the best ambassador pair in terms of both academic and non-academic abilities and that they can serve as examples for other students,” he said.
In addition to representing PGSD, the 2027 PGSD Ambassadors are expected to take on a broader role as figures who can inspire students, particularly within the PGSD Study Program at UNIPMA.
