UNIPMA — Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) conducted Monitoring and Evaluation (Monev) for 247 students receiving the Indonesia Smart College Card (KIP Kuliah) and Educational Completion Assistance (BPP) on Monday (10/8). The activity, held at the Integrated Laboratory, is a routine agenda conducted at the end of each semester before the beginning of the following semester to monitor students’ progress and ensure that the data of assistance recipients remains in accordance with the applicable regulations.

Head of the UNIPMA Student Affairs Bureau (BKM), Dr. Elly's Mersina M., S.Pd., M.Pd., said that the monitoring and evaluation is conducted periodically as part of the management of educational assistance. “Monitoring and evaluation is conducted at the end of each semester before the beginning of the following semester as part of monitoring assistance recipients,” she said.

In its implementation, the monitoring and evaluation team did not only examine students’ academic progress. The economic condition of their families was also assessed through supporting documents, such as information on parents’ occupations and income, as well as the number of family dependents.

The verification was conducted by matching the data submitted by students with the available supporting evidence. “Student data must be supported by appropriate documents,” added Dr. Elly's Mersina M., S.Pd., M.Pd.

A total of 247 students participated in the monitoring and evaluation, which was divided into two sessions. The morning session was attended by 139 students from semesters 2 and 8, while the afternoon session was attended by 108 students from semesters 4 and 6.

The division of sessions was adjusted to students’ academic activities. Several sixth-semester students were undertaking internships with partner institutions or participating in the School Field Introduction Program (PLP), so the monitoring and evaluation schedule was arranged to avoid conflicts with these activities.

The participants came from various study programs at UNIPMA, including the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Faculty of Engineering (FT), Faculty of Law (FH), and Faculty of Health Sciences and Science (FIKS).

KIP Kuliah and BPP have different scopes of assistance. KIP Kuliah covers educational expenses or tuition fees (UKT) as well as living expenses, while BPP is provided to assist with UKT costs.

In addition to ensuring that the assistance is managed in accordance with the applicable regulations, UNIPMA also uses the monitoring and evaluation process as part of student development. The university hopes that students receiving assistance will be able to maintain and improve their achievements throughout their studies.

“After graduating, we hope they can make a positive impact in their respective communities,” concluded Dr. Elly's Mersina M., S.Pd., M.Pd.

The activity was also attended by UNIPMA Vice Rector III Dr. Jeffry Handhika, M.Pd., M.Si., members of the BKM, the monitoring and evaluation team, deans, and heads of study programs.
