UNIPMA — Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) and the Madiun Regency Government are strengthening their synergy in education and community service. The collaboration is aimed at supporting improvements in the Human Development Index (HDI) as well as the average length of schooling in Madiun Regency.

The strengthened partnership was highlighted during an Education Talk Show titled “Synergy between the Madiun Regency Government, Universitas PGRI Madiun, and the UNIPMA Alumni Association”, held at Pendopo Ronggo Djoemeno, Caruban, on Tuesday (11/8). The event also included the inauguration of the UNIPMA Alumni Association (IKA UNIPMA) board for the 2026–2030 term.

The forum brought together Madiun Regent H. Hari Wuryanto, S.H., M.Ak.; UNIPMA Rector Dr. Supri Wahyudi Utomo, M.Pd.; Head of the Madiun Regency Education Office Agus Sucipto, S.Pd., M.Pd.; UNIPMA Vice Rector III Dr. Jeffry Handhika, M.Pd., M.Si.; Chair of IKA UNIPMA Dr. Wachidatul Linda Yuhanna, M.Si.; and inspirational alumnus Bayu Ringgar Amista, S.Pd.

H. Hari Wuryanto, S.H., M.Ak., said that higher education institutions play a strategic role in supporting regional development, including through community service programs.

“The Madiun Regency Government provides opportunities for students to apply the knowledge they gain on campus according to the needs of the community,” he said.

Hari Wuryanto emphasized that strengthening the education sector is one of the local government’s priorities. Therefore, synergy with higher education institutions and alumni is expected to create a tangible impact on human resource development.

“We hope this collaboration can improve the HDI and the average length of schooling,” he added.

Meanwhile, Dr. Wachidatul Linda Yuhanna, M.Si., was inaugurated as Chair of IKA UNIPMA for the 2026–2030 term. The new board is expected to strengthen alumni contributions while serving as a bridge between the university, local government, and the community.

Dr. Supri Wahyudi Utomo, M.Pd., said that the role of alumni should go beyond simply maintaining ties with their alma mater. According to him, alumni need to become more actively involved in university development and contribute to the community.

“Alumni should not merely reminisce about their university days but should become strategic partners,” he said.

According to Dr. Supri Wahyudi Utomo, M.Pd., alumni who currently work as teachers and education practitioners possess valuable field experience that can benefit UNIPMA. They can be involved in curriculum development to ensure that learning at the university remains relevant to the needs of the workforce.

In addition to curriculum development, UNIPMA is also encouraging research collaboration between lecturers and alumni. The joint research is expected not only to produce scientific publications but also to generate solutions to various educational challenges faced by the community.

During the forum, Supri also announced that UNIPMA had obtained approval to organize a Doctoral Program (Ph.D.) in Education. The program provides opportunities for teachers and alumni to further their academic qualifications without having to leave their jobs.

Through stronger collaboration among students, lecturers, alumni, and the local government, UNIPMA and the Madiun Regency Government are working to build an education ecosystem that is more responsive to community needs. The synergy is expected to strengthen the quality of human resources while contributing to improvements in the HDI of Madiun Regency.
