UNIPMA Receives Visit from UNS FMIPA Postgraduate Program, Holds Socialization, Discusses Academic Collaboration and Public Lecture
UNIPMA — Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) received a visit from the Postgraduate Program of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta at the UNIPMA Integrated Laboratory on Monday (15/6).
The activity was combined with a public lecture themed “Exploration of Natural Phenomena in the AI Era: Developing Critical Thinking Skills,” socialization of UNS master’s (S2) and doctoral (S3) postgraduate programs, as well as discussions on the initiation of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between the two universities.
This activity is part of efforts to strengthen institutional relations while opening opportunities for cooperation in education, research, and community service as an implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.
The UNIPMA delegation was led by the Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Cooperation, Dr. Jeffry Handhika, S.Si., M.Pd., M.Si., accompanied by the Dean of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Dr. Waskito Ardhi, S.Pd., M.Pd., along with the Cooperation and Public Relations Bureau (BKH) and lecturers.
Meanwhile, the UNS FMIPA delegation was led by the Vice Dean, Prof. Dr. Hasih Pratiwi, S.Si., M.Si., together with a number of postgraduate leaders and lecturers of FMIPA UNS, including Dr. apt. Dinar Sari Cahyaningrum Wahyuni, S.Farm., M.Si., Prof. Dr. Khoirina Dwi N., S.Si., M.Si., Prof. Dr. Eng. Budi Purnama, S.Si., M.Si., Prof. Dr. Agus Supriyanto, S.Si., M.Si., Prof. Siswanto, Dr. Solichatun, S.Si., M.Si., Dr. Shanti Listyawati, S.Si., M.Si., and Dwi Murti Asih Suprihatin, S.E.
In his remarks, Dr. Jeffry Handhika, S.Si., M.Pd., M.Si., welcomed the visit and expressed hope that the relationship between UNIPMA and UNS would develop through various mutually supportive academic programs.
“Hopefully this meeting will be a good start to building synergy and presenting various activities that provide benefits for both institutions,” he said.
A similar expectation was conveyed by the Vice Dean of FMIPA UNS, Prof. Dr. Hasih Pratiwi, S.Si., M.Si. According to her, there are many opportunities that can be developed together, ranging from research collaboration, strengthening academic cooperation, to implementing programs that support the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.
She added that the discussion on the initiation of the MoA during the meeting is expected to serve as a foundation for more concrete future cooperation.
In addition to discussing collaboration opportunities, the UNS FMIPA Postgraduate team also introduced various master’s (S2) and doctoral (S3) study programs to UNIPMA lecturers and students. The socialization aimed to provide information regarding further study opportunities, research fields, and academic competency development available within the UNS Postgraduate environment.
The event continued with a public lecture attended by UNIPMA lecturers and students. On this occasion, the Head of the Master’s Program in Physics, Prof. Dr. Eng. Budi Purnama, S.Si., M.Si., served as the speaker, presenting material titled “Exploration of Natural Phenomena Based on AI to Develop Critical Thinking Skills.”
In his presentation, Prof. Dr. Eng. Budi Purnama, S.Si., M.Si., also emphasized the importance of critical thinking skills in facing rapidly advancing technological developments, particularly in supporting research activities and data-based problem solving.
Through this activity, UNIPMA and UNS hope to expand academic networks, strengthen inter-institutional collaboration, and encourage research and innovation development that contributes to the advancement of higher education.
