FT UNIPMA Receives Benchmarking Visit from FT UNHASY, Discusses Opportunities for Academic Collaboration
The Faculty of Engineering (FT) of Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) received a benchmarking visit from the Faculty of Engineering (FT) of Universitas Hasyim Asy’ari (UNHASY) Jombang at the Integrated Laboratory on Monday (18/5). This activity marked an initial step in strengthening synergy in the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education as well as initiating inter-university cooperation, particularly in the Electrical Engineering and Industrial Engineering study programs.
Present at the event were the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering UNIPMA, Nasrul Rofiah Hidayati, S.T., M.Pd.; the Faculty Quality Assurance representative, Slamet Riyanto, S.T., M.M.; Head of Industrial Engineering Study Program, Aloysius Tommy Hendrawan, S.T., M.T.; Head of Electrical Engineering Study Program, Irna Tri Yuniahastuti, S.Pd., M.T.; along with lecturers from the Electrical Engineering department at UNIPMA.
Meanwhile, the UNHASY delegation included the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Nur Kholis, S.T., M.T.; Head of Industrial Engineering Study Program, Minto, S.Pd., M.T.; Head of Electrical Engineering Study Program, Nailul Izzati, S.Si., M.Si.; and several lecturers.
In her remarks, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering UNIPMA expressed appreciation and hopes that the activity would strengthen harmonious and collaborative relations between higher education institutions.
The event began with a presentation of the profiles of the Electrical Engineering and Industrial Engineering study programs at UNIPMA. The materials presented included the curriculum, student achievement records, student organization activities, and flagship programs that support the enhancement of students’ competencies in technology and engineering fields.
During the activity, participants had the opportunity to directly observe laboratory facilities and learning support infrastructure at FT UNIPMA. This is part of the university’s effort to create a learning environment that is adaptive to technological developments.
In an interview, Nasrul Rofiah Hidayati, S.T., M.Pd. stated that the benchmarking visit and collaboration initiative aimed to strengthen institutional relations and improve the quality of education, research, and community service at both universities.
“Through the discussion, both parties gained various insights and experiences that can be used as material for evaluation and institutional development in the future,” said Nasrul Rofiah Hidayati, S.T., M.Pd., on Wednesday (20/5).
The event also included the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and an Implementation Agreement (IA) between both parties. This agreement is expected to serve as the foundation for sustainable collaboration in education, research, and community service.
In addition to the presentation session, the activity continued with interactive discussions between lecturers and students from both institutions. The discussion covered technology-based learning development, implementation of practical projects, strengthening graduate competencies, as well as opportunities for research collaboration and community service.
Through this benchmarking and collaboration initiative, both institutions hope to build a sustainable partnership in education, research, scientific publications, technological innovation development, and collaborative community service programs.
This cooperation is expected to support the creation of graduates who are excellent and ready to face technological advancements and the needs of the industrial world.
