Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Class II Immigration Office of Madiun at the Integrated Laboratory of UNIPMA on Tuesday (19/5). The collaboration was established as a step toward strengthening immigration services while also supporting the university’s internationalization program.

The signing of the memorandum of understanding was accompanied by a public lecture titled “Know Immigration, Explore the World,” attended by students from various faculties within UNIPMA.

The event was attended by the Rector of UNIPMA, Dr. Supri Wahyudi Utomo, M.Pd., Vice Rector III Dr. Jeffry Handhika, S.Si., M.Pd., M.Si., Head of the Bureau of Cooperation and Public Relations (BKH) Dr. Sri Lestari, S.Pd., M.Pd., along with their staff, as well as the Head of the Class II Immigration Office of Madiun, Arief Adi Prayogo, S.Kom., M.H., together with the immigration officials.

In his remarks, Dr. Supri Wahyudi Utomo, M.Pd., stated that the collaboration is part of the university’s efforts to support the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, particularly through lecturer and student exchange programs with partner universities abroad.

According to him, UNIPMA continues to encourage the internationalization process of the campus so that its graduates are able to compete at the global level. In addition, the collaboration with the Immigration Office is expected to facilitate students participating in student exchange programs, joint research, and other international academic activities.

“UNIPMA carries the concept of going international so that students have broader opportunities to learn and collaborate with overseas universities,” he said.

In addition to supporting international cooperation, the program is also aligned with the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Impactful Campus Program initiated by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek). The program is directed toward creating learning experiences that benefit both students and society.

Meanwhile, Arief Adi Prayogo, S.Kom., M.H., viewed the collaboration with UNIPMA as a strategic step in improving public services and increasing public awareness of immigration law.
