Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) continues to strengthen its position as a quality higher education institution by achieving Excellent accreditation status for 12 study programs (Prodi). This accomplishment reflects the university’s ongoing commitment to improving the quality of higher education nationally.

Most recently, 12 out of the total 30 study programs at UNIPMA have obtained the highest accreditation rating from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) and related independent accreditation agencies. A significant addition occurred in 2026 with three new study programs entering the Excellent category: Bachelor’s Program in Accounting Education, Bachelor’s Program in English Education, and the Teacher Professional Education Program (PPG).

UNIPMA Rector, Dr. Supri Wahyudi Utomo, M.Pd., stated that this achievement marks a major leap forward for the institution. He mentioned that in the previous year, UNIPMA only had nine study programs with the same status.

“Currently, we have 12 study programs accredited as Excellent. This demonstrates UNIPMA’s continuous commitment to maintaining educational quality and strengthening university governance,” said Dr. Supri Wahyudi Utomo, M.Pd., during an interview on Monday (11/5).

The 12 study programs that have achieved Excellent accreditation are as follows:

1. Master’s Program in Social Studies Education
2. Master’s Program in Indonesian Language and Literature Education
3. Bachelor’s Program in Physics Education
4. Bachelor’s Program in Civic Education
5. Bachelor’s Program in Indonesian Language Education
6. Bachelor’s Program in Biology Education
7. Bachelor’s Program in Economics Education
8. Bachelor’s Program in Elementary School Teacher Education (PGSD)
9. Bachelor’s Program in Mathematics Education
10. Bachelor’s Program in Accounting Education
11. Bachelor’s Program in English Education
12. Teacher Professional Education Program (PPG)

According to Dr. Supri Wahyudi Utomo, M.Pd., the Excellent accreditation status reflects the overall quality of educational management, including lecturer qualifications, research productivity, scientific publications, international collaborations, and educational facilities and infrastructure. This achievement also strengthens public trust in the quality of UNIPMA graduates, making them competitive in the job market.

The success of placing 12 study programs at the Excellent level also serves as a strategic foundation for UNIPMA to pursue Institutional Excellent Accreditation by 2027. According to regulations, one of the main requirements for institutional accreditation is that at least 10 percent of all study programs must hold Excellent status, and UNIPMA has already surpassed that threshold.

In addition to focusing on study program accreditation, UNIPMA is also actively increasing the number of academic staff at the highest academic level. Currently, the university has four professors and is targeting the addition of more professors in the near future.

“With the fulfillment of various strict indicators and the increase in the number of professors, we are optimistic that the target of achieving Institutional Excellent Accreditation in 2027 will soon be realized,” he added.
