Preparing Careers for the Workforce, UNIPMA Equips Non-Education Students Through Internship Socialization 2026

Through the Field Experience and Internship Unit (UPPLM), Universitas PGRI Madiun continues to strengthen graduates’ readiness for the professional world through a structured internship program. This effort was realized through the Socialization of Non-Education Student Internships for 2026, held online on Friday (17/4).

This activity targeted students from non-education study programs, including the Faculty of Engineering (FT), Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Faculty of Health Sciences and Science (FIKS), and Faculty of Law (FH). The socialization aimed to provide comprehensive understanding regarding the flow, mechanisms, and technical implementation of internships in various partner institutions and companies.

As a concrete step, this activity serves as a strategic effort to ensure students are well-prepared before entering the workforce. In addition to students, the event also involved internship coordinator lecturers from each faculty to strengthen program coordination.

The Head of UPPLM, Ir. Sulistyaning Kartikawati, M.M., M.Pd., in her remarks, stated that internships are not only an academic requirement but also a real learning space. She emphasized the importance of students’ adaptability in professional environments.

“Non-education students must be able to adapt quickly to the workplace. Through internships, students not only learn technical skills but also absorb work culture and contribute meaningfully to their placement institutions,” she said.

The socialization featured two speakers who thoroughly discussed key aspects of internship implementation. Hani Atun Mumtahana, S.Kom., M.Kom. presented the 2026 internship timeline, from the initial stage to completion. Based on the schedule prepared by UPPLM, the internship process began in early April through internal coordination and student socialization, followed by registration on April 9–11, 2026, and partner correspondence until early May.

Students are scheduled to attend a briefing on July 1, 2026, before being deployed to internship locations on July 6–10, 2026. The internship itself runs for two months, from July 15 to September 15, 2026, accompanied by field supervisor monitoring. The final stages include student withdrawal, report preparation, and internship examinations or seminars scheduled for early October 2026.

Meanwhile, Dr. Ellys Mersina Mursidik, M.Pd. explained the digital system used in the program through the Internship Information System. This platform facilitates all administrative processes, including registration, letter submission, daily activity recording, and final evaluation online, making the process more effective and transparent.

The discussion took place interactively, moderated by Halwa Annisa Khoiri, S.Si., M.Si. Students actively explored information, particularly regarding the selection of internship partners relevant to their fields of study and strategies for facing selection processes in the industrial world.

The UPPLM internship program itself is divided into two schemes: a regular internship with a duration of about two months (equivalent to 210 hours) and an external MBKM internship lasting up to three months. Both schemes are designed to provide real work experience while strengthening students’ competencies in both hard and soft skills.

Through this socialization, UNIPMA reaffirms its commitment to producing graduates who are adaptive, professional, and ready to compete in various industrial sectors. Students are expected not only to be internship participants but also to become strong representatives of the university in the professional world.
