International Guest Lecture of the Information Systems Study Program at UNIPMA Presents Expert from the Philippines
The Information Systems Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA), continues to expand its global academic network by holding an International Guest Lecture along with the signing of an Implementation Agreement (IA) with Bulacan Agricultural State College (BASC), Philippines. The event took place at the Integrated Laboratory of UNIPMA on Tuesday (14/4) and was enthusiastically welcomed by lecturers and students.
Together with Herbert M. De Jesus, a lecturer from BASC Philippines who served as the speaker, the event presented the latest insights on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in modern learning systems, particularly through the concept of AI-assisted assessment.
The signing of the IA marks a strategic step to strengthen cross-country academic collaboration, especially in the development of information systems and quality management based on international standards. The agreement was signed by the Head of the Information Systems Study Program, Ridho Pamungkas, S.Kom., M.Kom.
From the beginning, the event atmosphere was dynamic. Students were actively engaged in every session, from material presentations to interactive discussions. Various questions emerged, particularly regarding the application of AI in learning evaluation systems in the digital era.
In his presentation, Herbert M. De Jesus highlighted the importance of educational transformation in the 21st century. According to him, one-way or passive learning approaches are no longer relevant to current student needs.
He emphasized that integrating AI into assessment systems can create a more adaptive, personalized, and efficient evaluation process. “The integration of pedagogy, assessment systems, and AI technology will create a more interactive and relevant learning experience,” he said.
The discussion was lively. Students explored further the implementation of AI-assisted assessment, ranging from personalized learning and evaluation speed to data-based assessment accuracy.
Ridho Pamungkas, S.Kom., M.Kom., in his interview stated that this activity is part of the study program’s commitment to providing learning that aligns with global technological developments.
“Through this guest lecture, students not only gain new knowledge but also an international perspective that is very important to enhance their competitiveness,” he said on Thursday (16/4).
He added that the collaboration with BASC Philippines is expected not to stop at ceremonial activities, but to continue with concrete programs such as joint research, student exchanges, and collaborative curriculum development.
Through this activity, UNIPMA hopes to create an academic environment that is innovative, inspiring, and relevant to global needs. This collaboration is also expected to open opportunities for sustainable future partnerships.
With the spirit of international collaboration, this step proves that the Information Systems Study Program of UNIPMA is capable of performing on the global stage, bringing new energy for students to continue growing and be ready to face future challenges.
