UNIPMA Scouts Plant 200 Tree Seedlings in Brumbun Village, Promoting Reforestation and Local Economy

The Scout Movement of Universitas PGRI Madiun demonstrated its environmental concern through the planting of 200 tree seedlings in Brumbun Village, Madiun Regency. This activity, held on Saturday (28/3), was part of the PGRI University Scout Camp (KPPGRI) program.

Members of Front Groups 01.097 and 01.098 Racana Pangeran Timoer–Racana Retno Djumilah planted a variety of species, including srikaya, cashew, coffee, cempedak, joran, tamarind, and jackfruit. These plants were selected for both their ecological value and their potential economic benefits for the local community.

The tree planting activity was not merely ceremonial but part of a community service program designed with educational, social, and participatory approaches. It represents a tangible contribution by UNIPMA Scouts to environmental conservation.

Zahra Siti Fajarani, the head of the event, explained in an interview that the planting aims to maintain ecosystem balance while increasing greenery in the area. “We hope this activity will have a long-term impact, both environmentally and economically for the community,” she said on Monday (30/3).

The seedlings used in the program were donated by the Environmental Agency (DLH). With this support, participants are optimistic that the program can be sustainable and deliver real benefits.

In the future, the planted trees are expected to grow well and become a source of benefits for Brumbun residents. In addition to supporting environmental preservation, these productive plants also have the potential to improve local livelihoods through future harvests.
