The final round of the 2026 Outstanding Student Selection (Pilmapres) at Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) successfully reached its climax on Tuesday (March 10). Held at Campus 1, Micro Lab 1 and 2, this prestigious event determined which of UNIPMA’s top students would earn the title of Outstanding Student and represent the campus at a higher level.

The finalists who reached this stage had previously undergone intensive preparation designed to sharpen both academic and non-academic skills, enabling them to showcase their full potential.

Pilmapres is held annually as a demonstration of UNIPMA’s commitment to developing superior human resources. This competition evaluates not only academic excellence but also integrity, creativity, and students’ real contributions to society.

Arri Kurniawan, Head of the Student Affairs Bureau (BKM) UNIPMA, explained that Pilmapres holds a strategic position compared to other student competitions. According to him, the event is a “Competition of the Winners” because participants have generally already achieved notable accomplishments.

“Pilmapres is strategically important as it reflects the holistic competence of UNIPMA students. Outstanding students are assessed across multiple aspects, including achievements, innovative products, creative ideas, and English proficiency,” he said.

The competition evaluates a balance of intellectual abilities, character, and skills through three main assessment pillars:

• Achievements (CU): Formal recognition of students’ accomplishments in academic and non-academic fields.
• Innovative Products (PI): Assessing students’ ability to create practical or innovative solutions to industry or societal challenges.
• Creative Ideas (GK): Testing critical and systematic thinking in developing concepts or ideas to address contemporary issues.

Arri added that Pilmapres’ evaluation is more comprehensive than typical competitions, which often focus on a single field. Pilmapres integrates all of a student’s achievements into a complete portfolio assessment.

“Of course, we hope to select the very best among the best to represent UNIPMA at the national level,” he added.

After the final stage, which included presentations on achievements, innovative products, creative ideas, and critical questioning by the judges, six students were selected as UNIPMA’s Outstanding Student representatives for 2026.

The final results are as follows:

• 1st Place: Vanzha Rio Prabowo – History Education
• 2nd Place: Yenny Kusuma – Pharmacy
• 3rd Place: Diky Aditya Fernando – Biology Education

Consolation awards were given to:

• Hope 1: Vara Diva Frisca Karinma – Guidance and Counseling
• Hope 2: Rinda Tri Kusuma – Mathematics Education
• Hope 3: Natasya Engelina – Accounting Education

Vanzha Rio Prabowo, the first-place winner, expressed pride and surprise at the achievement, stating that initially, he only wanted to participate without focusing on the outcome.

“I am proud to represent the History Education program as an outstanding student and hope to carry UNIPMA’s name to the LLDIKTI VII level,” he said.

He hopes to continue developing his competencies according to his field of study and bring honor to the campus at higher levels.

Through Pilmapres, UNIPMA’s outstanding students are expected to become agents of change who contribute meaningfully to society and the nation. They also demonstrate that UNIPMA students have the capacity and potential to compete not only regionally but also nationally and internationally.
