Together with a UGM Professor, FT UNIPMA Discusses K3L in the Era of Industry 4.0 and Society 5.0

The Faculty of Engineering (FT) of Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) held a public lecture themed “K3L in the Era of Industry 4.0 and Society 5.0: Challenges for Students” with a Professor from Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Prof. Dr. Ir. Agus Taufik Mulyono, S.T., M.T., IPU., ASEAN Eng., at the UNIPMA Integrated Laboratory, on Tuesday (20/1).

This activity was a follow-up to the collaboration between FT UNIPMA and the Indonesian Engineers Association (PII) Madiun City Branch, which was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA), and continued with the public lecture.

The agenda aimed to enhance students’ understanding of the importance of Occupational Safety, Health, and Environment (K3L), both in academic settings and in the professional world.

The public lecture featured Prof. Dr. Ir. Agus Taufik Mulyono, S.T., M.T., IPU., ASEAN Eng., as the main speaker and was moderated by FT UNIPMA lecturer Puguh Jayadi, S.Kom., M.Kom. In his presentation, Prof. Agus Taufik Mulyono comprehensively discussed the meaning of the Bachelor of Engineering (S.T.) and Engineer titles, as well as the strategic role of engineering graduates in facing industrial challenges in the era of digital transformation. He emphasized that mastery of K3L standards is an essential provision for students before entering the workforce.

In addition, Prof. Agus Taufik Mulyono also presented several cases of occupational accidents and research findings that have occurred in both industrial sectors and academic environments. These cases served as important reflections for students to develop a strong awareness of K3L implementation from an early stage.

The event was attended by lecturers of the Faculty of Engineering UNIPMA and engineering students, who showed great enthusiasm throughout the program. The public lecture was officially opened by UNIPMA Rector Dr. Supri Wahyudi Utomo, M.Pd., who emphasized that an understanding of occupational safety is a crucial aspect of the modern industrial world and must be firmly embedded in future engineering graduates.

In addition to enriching knowledge, the public lecture also provided a space for direct interaction between students and the speaker through discussion and question-and-answer sessions. Through this activity, FT UNIPMA hopes that students will be better prepared to face the professional world with adequate knowledge, a professional attitude, and a high level of awareness regarding the implementation of K3L in the era of Industry 4.0 and Society 5.0.
