UNIPMA Welcomes Benchmarking Visit from ITEBIS Jombang, Discusses Governance and Student Affairs Development
Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) welcomed a benchmarking (comparative study) visit from the PGRI Dewantara Institute of Technology and Business (ITEBIS) Jombang to discuss student affairs management on Tuesday (January 13). The benchmarking activity took place in the Rectorate Meeting Room, Campus 1 of UNIPMA, and focused on strengthening the governance of student organizations.
The visit served as a forum for sharing best practices related to student organizational structures, student organization development, strategies for improving student achievements, as well as program planning and inter-organizational collaboration. In addition, the development of student organizations was a key topic of discussion.
UNIPMA Rector Dr. Supri Wahyudi Utomo, M.Pd., together with the university leadership and student affairs management team, personally welcomed the ITEBIS Jombang delegation. Also in attendance were Vice Rector I Dr. Elva Nuraina, S.E., M.Si.; Head of the Student Affairs Bureau (BKM) Arri Kurniawan, S.S., M.Pd.; BKM Secretary Lusia Kristiasih Dwi P., S.S., M.A.; BKM Treasurer Dr. Farida Styaningrum, S.Pd., M.Pd.; BKM Staff Member Rachmad Agung Wicaksono, S.Pd.; as well as representatives of the student affairs division from ITEBIS Jombang.
During the discussion forum, Dr. Elva Nuraina, S.E., M.Si., explained the working system and division of duties of Vice Rectors I to IV at UNIPMA, including the management of Student Activity Units (UKM), administration, and student welfare. She also stated that UNIPMA currently oversees 55 active student organizations operating in various fields.
“Student affairs management is directed toward strengthening organizational development, administrative services, and support for student activities and achievements,” said Dr. Elva Nuraina, S.E., M.Si.
Meanwhile, Arri Kurniawan, S.S., M.Pd., presented strategies for fostering student achievements, including optimizing KIP scholarships, providing financial support for each student organization, and implementing policies on initial funding as capital for activities. He also explained efforts to encourage student participation in the Student Creativity Program (PKM) through a course conversion scheme.
These explanations were complemented by Lusia Kristiasih Dwi P., S.S., M.A., who discussed the development of impactful BEM (Student Executive Board) collaborations, and by Dr. Farida Styaningrum, S.Pd., M.Pd., who presented UNIPMA’s support for the Student Entrepreneurship Development Program (P2MW).
Through this benchmarking visit, it is hoped that ITEBIS PGRI Jombang will gain references and insights into UNIPMA’s student affairs management that can be adapted to the needs and characteristics of its institution.
