Preparing Superior Science Generation, UNIPMA Holds General Lecture on Deep Learning-Based Learning

Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) held a general lecture themed “Science Learning Based on Deep Learning: Transformation from Theory to Classroom Practice” at the Integrated Laboratory, Friday (19/12), yesterday. This activity was attended by lecturers and students from the Natural Science (IPA), Physics, and Biology Study Programs.

The general lecture was also attended by the Vice Rector for Field IV of UNIPMA, Dr. Jeffry Handika, M.Pd., M.Si., who opened the activity and gave remarks. He emphasized the importance of academic activities capable of providing real impact for the development of learning in higher education.

“Through this general lecture, the hope is that the activity carried out can provide benefits, as well as become a means to synergize and strengthen ties between the academic community,” said Dr. Jeffry Handika, M.Pd., M.Si.

The activity was guided by Dr. Muh. Waskito Ardhi, S.Pd., M.Pd., as the moderator by presenting resource person Prof. Dr. Suciati, M.Pd., a lecturer from Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta. In her presentation, Prof. Dr. Suciati, M.Pd., explained the concept of science learning based on deep learning as well as how to transform theory into learning practice in the classroom to be more meaningful and student-centered.

According to Prof. Dr. Suciati, M.Pd., the deep learning approach in science learning does not only emphasize concept understanding, but also encourages students to think critically, reflectively, and contextually in facing real problems.

Participant enthusiasm was seen in the Q&A session which took place interactively. Students and lecturers actively asked questions as well as discussed directly with the resource person regarding challenges and opportunities for deep learning application in science learning.

Through this general lecture, UNIPMA strives to encourage science learning innovation that is adaptive to the development of science and pedagogy, while simultaneously strengthening a collaborative and sustainable academic culture.
