FH UNIPMA Equips Students with Scientific Article Writing and Mendeley Workshop
The Law Study Program, Faculty of Law (FH) Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) held a Workshop on Article Writing and the Use of Citation & Reference Manager Mendeley on Saturday, (9/20), yesterday. The activity, which took place at the Integrated Laboratory of Campus 4, was attended by students of the FH UNIPMA Law Study Program.
This workshop was designed to improve students’ skills in writing scientific articles while equipping them with the ability to manage references using the Mendeley application.
The chief organizer, Herlin Yesiana, in her interview, stated that this activity is a strategic step to encourage students to be better prepared for academic as well as professional careers. “The workshop was carefully designed with the aim of preparing students to face both the academic and professional world,” she said, Monday, (9/22), yesterday.
Dean of FH UNIPMA, Dr. Siska Diana Sari, S.H., M.H., opened the event with a speech emphasizing the importance of mastering academic-supporting technology. “Students must get used to writing scientific articles and understand how to use Mendeley, as both of these will greatly support them in the academic field,” she said.
In the first session, Dr. Siska Diana Sari, S.H., M.H., who also served as the speaker, presented material on scientific article writing, including the essence of writing, procedures for structuring, and techniques for selecting and finding references. She also highlighted the benefits of publishing scientific articles for students, especially in building academic portfolios.
The next session was delivered by Mohammad Arfi Setiawan, S.Si., M.Pd., who provided technical training on the use of the Mendeley application. His material covered software operation, reference management, and synchronizing Mendeley with Microsoft Word.
The activity became even more engaging with a Q&A session. Students were enthusiastic in raising questions, both regarding difficulties in writing articles and ways to optimize Mendeley.
Through this workshop, participants are expected to gain new skills that can support the quality of their academic writing. It is hoped that FH UNIPMA students will become more productive in producing useful scientific works.
