The Modern Faculty of Engineering Building at UNIPMA Has Been Inaugurated, Strengthening the Commitment Toward Becoming an Excellent Campus
Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) once again reaffirms its existence as an excellent campus by presenting modern facilities to support education. This commitment was realized through the inauguration of the Faculty of Engineering Building, officiated directly by the Governor of East Java, Khofifah Indar Parawansa, during the Gala Dinner of the Opening of the 5th National Student Sports and Arts Week (Porsenasma) of PT PGRI across the archipelago, Monday (8/4).
The Faculty of Engineering Building was designed with modern standards. Inside, it provides comfortable lecture rooms, state-of-the-art laboratories, and digital-based learning facilities. Its presence emphasizes UNIPMA’s seriousness in creating a conducive learning environment that is also relevant to industrial needs. The building is projected to become a hub for producing future technicians who are smart, competitive, professional, and globally competent.
This development also responds to the need for representative higher education in the field of engineering. With its modern design and complete facilities, ranging from discussion rooms to student project workspaces, the building is expected to drive the development of technical skills as well as student innovation. This inauguration also marks an important milestone for UNIPMA in strengthening its role as a higher education institution adaptive to the challenges of the times.
Not only focusing on physical facilities, UNIPMA also presents learning innovations. The campus currently has four smart classrooms that combine conventional classrooms with advanced digital devices. “With the Smart Classroom, UNIPMA demonstrates its seriousness in producing graduates who are technologically literate and ready to face the digital era,” explained UNIPMA Rector, Dr. Supri Wahyudi Utomo, M.Pd., in an interview on Thursday (9/4/2025).
Furthermore, Dr. Supri Wahyudi Utomo, M.Pd., explained that UNIPMA also has a Hybrid Classroom on the 3rd floor of Campus 1. This facility is the result of research on learning innovations supported by a grant of Rp400 million from the Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology. “Hybrid learning facilitates interaction, especially for RPL and postgraduate students. This is in line with the digital transformation in the world of education,” he said. The presence of this facility is expected to strengthen an increasingly adaptive academic atmosphere.
Currently, UNIPMA oversees 30 study programs, seven of which are accredited “Excellent.” They are Master of Social Science Education, Bachelor of Civic Education, Bachelor of Indonesian Language Education, Bachelor of Biology Education, Bachelor of Economics Education, Bachelor of Primary School Teacher Education (PGSD), and Bachelor of Mathematics Education. In the future, UNIPMA targets to open a doctoral (S3) program. “This year, we already have four professors. The requirements for opening a doctoral program have also been met. We hope the number of professors continues to grow to strengthen human resources and encourage UNIPMA to become an Excellent, Innovative, and Globally Competitive university,” he concluded.
