The e-sport branch of the 2025 National Student Sports and Arts Week (PORSENASMA) V PT PGRI throughout the archipelago was filled with excitement. The competition, featuring the game Mobile Legends, was held over two days, starting Friday (8/8) and concluding with a medal ceremony on Saturday (9/8) at the 4th Floor of the Faculty of Engineering (FT) Building, Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA).

The event coordinator, Alim Citra Aria Bima, S.Pd., M.Kom., stated that both participant and spectator enthusiasm was incredibly high. “The euphoria was amazing, from both the players and the audience. This also happened to be the final branch of the entire event, which made the atmosphere even more festive,” he said.

To ensure professionalism, the matches involved referees and casters from Esports Indonesia (ESI), experienced in similar events. “From the start, we emphasized neutrality. Even if our university lost, it's a result that must be accepted,” added Alim Citra Aria Bima, S.Pd., M.Kom.

The competition followed a Best of 3 (Bo3) knockout format. On the first day, 14 matches were held to filter the top eight teams. The competition continued with semifinals, a third-place match, and the final on the second day.

As a result, Universitas Indraprasta PGRI emerged as the champion, followed by ITEBIS PGRI Dewantara Jombang in second place, Universitas Nusantara PGRI Kediri in third, and Universitas PGRI Ronggolawe Tuban in fourth (consolation winner).

Alim Citra Aria Bima, S.Pd., M.Kom., hopes e-sport won’t stop at being just a competition. “The enthusiasm was very high. In the future, we hope to see the birth of student activity units or official sports branches that accommodate e-sport on campus,” he said.

This event proved that e-sports are not merely entertainment games, but a platform to sharpen strategy, teamwork, and sportsmanship—equally important as any other sport.
