Poetry Reading Competition at the National Student Sports and Arts Week (PORSENASMA) V PT PGRI Across the Archipelago 2025 was solemn and full of expression. This arts competition was held at the Studio of the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program, Campus 1 Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA), last Friday (8/8), attended by 37 participants from various PGRI universities throughout Indonesia.

The person in charge of the event, Dr. Panji Kuncoro Hadi, S.S., M.Pd., appreciated the enthusiasm of participants coming from various regions, ranging from Palembang, Lampung, Jakarta, Ponorogo, Pacitan, Trenggalek, Nganjuk, to Kalimantan. “The number of participants is quite good. Indeed, some only sent one male or one female participant, but overall this is already encouraging,” he said.

Three judges involved came from the circles of national writers and artists. They were Dr. Tjahjono Widijanto, M.Pd. (Chairman of the Ngawi Arts Council and national literary writer), Agus Prianto, a poet from MAN 1 Madiun, and Anas Yusuf, a national writer who has long been engaged in the field of education.

According to Dr. Panji Kuncoro Hadi, S.S., M.Pd., this competition is an important forum for students to hone their literary appreciation through poetry reading. “With activities like this, the friendship among PGRI universities grows stronger, and the literary condition in Indonesia can continue to develop,” he said.

This competition confirms that PORSENASMA is not only a platform to compete in sports but also a stage for achievement for young campus artists from PGRI throughout Indonesia.
