Exciting Pencak Silat Action Highlights PORSENASMA V PT PGRI 2025 at Graha Cendekia
The Pencak Silat competition, part of the National Student Sports and Arts Week (PORSENASMA) V for PGRI Universities, officially began on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at Graha Cendekia, Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA). As part of a national inter-university competition among PGRI students across the archipelago, this event showcased top performances from young athletes competing with enthusiasm and upholding the values of sportsmanship.
Under the coordination of Agung Dwi Darmawan, S.Pd., M.Pd., as the activity coordinator, the matches proceeded smoothly and in a conducive atmosphere. “Everything went smoothly. The contingents, especially the participants, were very disciplined and upheld sportsmanship,” he stated.
The Pencak Silat competition is divided into two main categories: art and match. In the art category, there are IPSI and Creative Solo divisions. Meanwhile, the match category is divided by weight class, with classes A to F for male participants and classes A to E for female participants.
“In total, 35 PGRI universities are involved in this competition. All of them have been actively fostering Pencak Silat on their respective campuses,” added Agung Dwi Darmawan, S.Pd., M.Pd.
The series of matches is scheduled to take place over three days, from August 6 to 8, 2025. The first two days are used for the preliminary rounds, while the final will be held on the third day, which also marks the closing of the event with the presentation of certificates and awards to the winners.
On-site observations showed high enthusiasm from both participants and spectators. The presence of UNIPMA Rector, Dr. Supri Wahyudi Utomo, M.Pd., who attended the event alongside the Head of the Student Affairs Bureau (BKM) UNIPMA, Arri Kurniawan, S.S., M.Pd., further boosted the athletes’ spirit during the matches.
With strict regulations and well-organized technical execution, the Pencak Silat competition at PORSENASMA V PT PGRI has become one of the highlights that reflects the committee's commitment to delivering a high-quality and integrity-driven competition.
