UNIPMA Expands Global Network through Collaboration with New Era University, Philippines 

Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA) continues to expand its global network. Through the Cooperation and Public Relations Bureau (BKH), UNIPMA held an initial international cooperation meeting with New Era University, Philippines, on Tuesday, 08/07/2025.

The meeting was attended by several representatives from both institutions. The UNIPMA delegation included Dr. Sri Lestari (Head of BKH), Tri Wahyuni Chasanatun, M.Pd (Head of International Cooperation Division), Dr. Erlik Widiyani Setyati (Head of S1 English Education Study Program), and Nurul Kusuma Dewi, M.Sc (Secretary of S1 Biology Education Study Program).

Meanwhile, from New Era University Philippines, the attendees were Dahlia R. Domingo (Faculty CED Dean), Dr. Corazon V. Liwayway (Director for Office of Career Placement and Linkages), Atty. Gernalyn A. Slonao (Assistant Chair of Accreditation for Education), Dr. Luningning B. De Castro (Overseer of Education), Bro. Willieson B. Torio (Minister of the Gospel and English lecturer), and Prof. Hazel Plaza (English Subject Professor).

The event began with introduction sessions and presentations of each institution’s profile. This was followed by intensive discussions about collaboration opportunities, ranging from plans to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Memorandum of Agreement (MoA), to the development of international programs such as student exchange and guest lecture series.

At this forum, both universities agreed on concrete cooperation between the S1 English Education Study Program at UNIPMA and New Era University Philippines through the International Credit Transfer program, which will begin in the odd semester of the 2025/2026 academic year.

This step is part of UNIPMA’s efforts to develop a globally standardized academic atmosphere, open international access for students and lecturers, and strengthen UNIPMA’s position as an adaptive and competitive university on the international stage.
